    Abstract: Described herein are techniques that may be used to generate and allocate memory block devices that include volatile memory for long-term data storage. In some embodiments, such techniques may comprise receiving an indication of a set of memory addresses available on one or more server computing devices, allocating at least a portion of the set of memory addresses to a memory block device. Such techniques may further comprise, upon receiving a request to allocate memory to a virtual machine, instantiating the virtual machine and allocating the memory block device to the virtual machine. Upon receiving a request to decommission the virtual machine, the techniques may further comprise reclaiming the memory block device.

First information is received that indicates a plurality of web services to be tested. Each of the web services are associated with a different resource manager. Second information is received that indicates a plurality of application servers for performing the web services. A global transaction is created that includes a plurality of transactions based on the first information that was received. A two-phase commit process is initiated at one of the application servers for performing the global transaction. After the two-phase commit process has ended, results of the global transaction that include information regarding each of the transactions within the global transaction are displayed.
