Abstract: A system and method for automated network device group collector management includes a memory storing device management data for each of the document processing devices. A processor receives updated device management data corresponding to a device change in an identified device group and designates a document processing device in the identified group as a group primary collector in accordance with received updated device management data. The processor communicates device management data comprising primary collector designator data to a selected document processing device in the identified group via the network interface. A second document processing device may be designated as a secondary collector and a load sharing or balancing between collectors is made. Assignment of roles and loads is communicated to devices via the network.

Abstract: A system and method for predictive object identifier (OID) field identification for multifunction peripherals includes a processor configured to walk the managed information base (MIB) of a multifunction peripheral having unidentified OIDs, and save simple network management protocol (SNMP) data associated with the unidentified OIDs to a database. A machine learning process compares data associated with the unidentified OIDs with training data derived from prior training of the machine learning process to predict one or more candidate OID field types for one or several unidentified OIDs. One of the candidate OID field types can be selected by a user as the predicted OID field type, and the selection can be used to improve the training of the machine learning process. The machine learning process can be trained using data derived from walking the MIB of a plurality of multifunction peripherals having known MIBs and OIDs.

Abstract: A system and method for network device oversight includes a processor on a network client configured to generate a network probe via a network interface. Network configuration data corresponding to a configuration of a plurality of network devices is stored in a memory. The processor receives response data from an associated network device responsive to the probe and the processor updates the network configuration, device configuration, device status or user data in accordance with the response data.
