Patent number: 8662816Abstract: An improved Z-bar linkage for wheel loader machines for maneuvering an implement such as a bucket or pallet forks may include lift arms pivotally connected between an end frame of the machine and the implement, a tilt link pivotally connected between the implement and a tilt lever that is pivotally connected between the tilt link and the lift arms. Lift cylinders may rotate the lift arms to raise and lower the implement, and a tilt cylinder may drive the tilt lever and tilt link to rotate the implement between a dump position and a racked position. Ratios of the lengths of these kinematic elements are provided such that the good performance with one implement, such as bucket, does not result in poor performance with another implement, such as the pallet forks.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2010Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Joel R. Grimes, Wayne E. Harshberger, Jason J. Hagedorn, Jia X. Zhao, Susan Green, Jay H. Renfrow

Publication number: 20100011593Abstract: The invention provides bayonet or survival knife 100 that insulates the user from electric shock. With the insulated bayonet or knife, the user can safely cut a wire regardless of whether the wire is electrified or not. As a further improvement, the invention provides the soldier with an indicator to warn the soldier or user that the wire that is being cut is also electrified. In one of its embodiments the invention provides a voltage indicator circuit that includes, in series, blade 102 and hand guard 104 of bayonet or knife 100, resistor 106, light bulb 108 such as a neon bulb, and electrical thumb terminal 110 embedded in insulating handle 112. Metal blade 102 and metal butt or bayonet latch 114 on the end of handle 112 are electrically isolated from each other by insulating extension rod 116.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2005Publication date: January 21, 2010Inventors: Nick Trbovich, JR., Kathlyn Susan Green

Publication number: 20060079608Abstract: Elastomer masterbatch is processed in a continuous compounder having multiple parallel elongate rotors axially oriented in an elongate processing chamber. Optionally, additional materials are compounded into the masterbatch, e.g., additives, other elastomeric compositions, etc. Preferably, the masterbatch then is further processed in an open mill. Excellent control of Mooney Viscosity is achieved. In certain preferred embodiments, elastomer composites are produced by novel continuous flow methods and apparatus in which fluid streams of particulate filler and elastomer latex are fed to the mixing zone of a coagulum reactor to form a coagulated mixture in semi-confined flow continuously from the mixing zone through a coagulum zone to a discharge end of the reactor.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2005Publication date: April 13, 2006Inventors: Bin Chung, Susan Green, Ivan Podobnik, Joseph Cianciolo

Publication number: 20050214449Abstract: A lactone solvent swell composition and method of using the composition. The lactone swell composition is used to condition resinous material for etching to form a porous textured surface on the resinous material. The porous texture permits the deposition of a metal on the resinous material such that a high integrity bond is formed between the textured resinous material and the deposited metal. Such a bond between the metal and the resinous material prevents de-lamination of the metal and resin bond. The lactone solvent swell compositions also desmear resin material from substrates. The lactone solvent swell compositions may be employed to treat resinous material used in the manufacture of printed wiring boards. Metal may be deposited on the textured resinous material by electroless plating.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2004Publication date: September 29, 2005Applicant: Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, L.L.C.Inventors: Deborah Hirst, Mark Poole, Susan Green, Inna Sinitskaya, John Graves

Patent number: 6758936Abstract: A secure plastic card and method for manufacturing the secure plastic card are disclosed. The secure plastic card includes a lenticular lens surface having a filmed image printed thereon. The lenticular lens surface is bonded to a core stock layer. The bonding is accomplished with an thermally bondable coating layer which is preferably capable of migrating through lithographic ink. The lenticular lens material and the core stock layer are assembled together and are laminated to form the secure plastic card. The exposed surface of the lenticular lens material is preferably covered with a temporary protective film during lamination.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2001Date of Patent: July 6, 2004Assignee: MBNA America Bank, N.A.Inventors: John H.
