  • Publication number: 20230066944
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a concentrate enriched in a phosphate mineral content from an ore, which contains a phosphate mineral and a non-phosphate mineral, by a flotation, which method comprises the step of adding a surfactant system comprising (A) a fatty acid, (B) a blend of ethoxylated and non-ethoxylated alcohols, which is obtainable by blending (i) a reaction product of a first C12-C16 aliphatic alcohol having an average degree of branching of 1.9 to 3.5 and 10 to 20 equivalents of ethylene oxide, and (ii) a second C12-C16 aliphatic alcohol having an average degree of branching of 1.9 to 3.5, wherein the amount of (i) is 80 to 95 wt. % and the amount of (ii) is 5 to 20 wt. % and wt. % is based on the overall weight of the mixture of ethoxylated and non-ethoxylated alcohols, to a prepared aqueous pulp of the ore and optionally one or more flotation auxiliaries to obtain an aqueous mixture. Furthermore, a use of the surfactant system as flotation collector is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20180180619
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing pancreatic cancer in a subject comprising the steps of: (a) determining in at least one sample of said subject the amounts of a group of diagnostic biomarkers comprising (i) at least one diagnostic amino acid, said diagnostic amino acid being proline, histidine or tryptophan, preferably, being proline; (ii) at least one diagnostic ceramide, said diagnostic ceramide being ceramide (d18:1,C24:0) or ceramide (d18:2,C24:0), preferably being ceramide (d18:1,C24:0); (iii) at least one diagnostic sphingomyelin, said diagnostic sphingomyelin being sphingomyelin (35:1), sphingomyelin (d17:1,C16:0), sphingomyelin (41:2) or sphingomyelin (d18:2,C17:0), preferably being sphingomyelin (35:1); and (iv) CA19-9; and (b) comparing said amounts of the diagnostic biomarkers with a reference, whereby pancreatic cancer is diagnosed.

  • Patent number: 8586367
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with the analysis of polar metabolites and provides methods for analyzing polar metabolites including extracting a biological sample with a extraction buffer containing a phase separator and a volatile neutral ammonium salt under conditions which allow for immediate disruption of cells in the biological sample, separating the polar metabolites in the extract by chromatography, and analyzing the separated polar metabolites. Moreover, a method for quenching a biological sample containing cellular material is contemplated.
