  • Patent number: 7163725
Abstract: A display representing a tree, such as a Christmas tree, has a trunk made of a hollow tube and held by a base in substantially vertical position. A liquid, such as water, is placed in the tube and an air supply in or near the bottom of the tube generates bubbles that rise through the tube. The tube and bubbles therein are preferably illuminated to add to the effectiveness of the display. Illumination can be provided by LED's which avoid the heat of incandescent lamps. Branches are secured to the trunk tube and extend outwardly therefrom to support a foliage garland to provide tree foliage and give the display the appearance of a tree. The tree can be provided as a separate trunk tube portion, base, and foliage garland so the parts can be packed and shipped without the base attached to the tube.

  • Patent number: 6511314
Abstract: A decorative candle and oil lamp assembly includes a decorative candle including a reduced cross portion, a variety of decorative features, and a circular recess in its top. The oil lamp assembly includes a top, bottom, and body portion. The top portion includes a filler neck with a narrow portion and a flared portion. A flammable liquid, such as lamp oil, is introduced into the oil lamp assembly via the flared portion of the filler neck. Also included in the oil lamp assembly is a wick assembly. The wick assembly includes a glass tube consisting of a straight body portion and a flared portion. Mounted inside the wick assembly is a woven fiberglass wick consisting of a flared upper and a flared lower portion, and a body portion. After the oil lamp assembly is full of lamp oil or other flammable liquid, the wick assembly is placed inside the filler neck, with the bottom flared portion of the fiberglass wick in contact with the flammable liquid.

  • Patent number: 4548845
Abstract: A water-insoluble, normally tacky, pressure-sensitive adhesive is disclosed having reduced build up on a knife blade when that knife blade is utilized to shear a plurality of webs including a layer of the adhesive. The adhesive contains a mixture of non-volatile components including (a) a water-insoluble elastomeric polymer, (b) a tackifier and (c) a polyoxyalkylene polyol present in amount of about 3 to about 45 percent of the total non-volatile weights of components (a), (b) and (c). The adhesive components (a), (b) and (c) are dispersed substantially homogeneously when the adhesive is applied to a substrate.
