  • Patent number: 7219625
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for restraining an animal and/or washing and/or grooming an animal are provided. The animal is placed on the lid of a container to allow a person to wash and/or groom the animal. The container may also store materials used in restraining and/or washing and/or grooming the animal. During use, water and/or other cleaning fluids used in washing and/or grooming of the animal exit through a drain and/or numerous holes on the surface of the lid of the container and enter an interior of the container. The container may further trap hair, fur and/or other materials removed from the animal within the interior of the container.

  • Patent number: 7153896
Abstract: An element for the attachment of protein arrays, the element comprising a surface to which are attached a plurality of piperazine functional groups wherein the piperazine functional groups are represented by Formula I: where R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, are hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkylhalo, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkylthio, alkoxy, with the proviso that at least one of R1 to R10 be a non-labile chemical unit that attaches the piperazine functional group to the surface of the element.

  • Patent number: 6935276
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method for supporting an animal during grooming of the animal. A base has a drain, such as, for example, a drain hole and/or drain holes, which may allow the liquids to flow through the base. The base is supported by, for example, a leg and/or the side walls of a wash tub. The leg pivots from a first position to a second position and/or has a length which adjusts to allow the leg to push against the surface of the wash tub. Moreover, the animal is placed on top of the base and may be groomed by the user while on the base.

  • Patent number: 5285800
Abstract: A permanent wave apparatus for curling hair includes a perm roller having a cylindrical outer surface with four equally-spaced longitudinal rows of outwardly projecting teeth positioned thereon. As the hair strands are wrapped around the roller, the rows of teeth act to provide additional compression of the hair by pressing it more firmly together between adjacent teeth with each rotation of the roller. Thus, increased compression of the hair strands is a function of both the number of rotations or wraps of a roller and the compacting action of the hair between the roller teeth. End papers having a longitudinal I-shaped slot opening therein enhance wrapping of the hair by holding the ends of all of the hair strands in place during wrapping, thereby eliminating fish hooks or bent ends, and enabling perfect wraps, even on extemely texturized cuts. Plastic slide clips serve to secure the first roller used to wrap a given section of hair to the scalp to provide increased volume of the resulting curl at the scalp.
