Publication number: 20070141489Abstract: An imaging member is disclosed which includes a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer. The charge transport layer includes a first charge transport layer adjacent the charge generating layer and at least a second charge transport layer adjacent the first charge transport layer. Each charge transport layer includes a film forming polymer binder and a charge transport material dispersed therein. The first charge transport material has a composition which is the same or different than the second charge transport material and of a lower concentration. It may be selected from an aryl amine, aryl diamine, or combinations thereof. The combination has the effect of reducing charge deficient spots.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2005Publication date: June 21, 2007Inventors: Satchidanand Mishra, Kathleen Carmichael, Yuhua Tong, Anthony Horgan, Edward Grabowski, Richard Post, Susan VanDusen

Publication number: 20060257767Abstract: Provided is an imaging member such as photoreceptor comprising a substrate, a charge generation layer, a first charge transport layer, a second charge transport layer, and an optional overcoat layer. The first charge transport layer is formed from a first CTL formulation comprising an aromatic monoamine and a first polymeric film forming binder material. The second charge transport layer is formed from a second CTL formulation comprising aromatic diamine and a second polymeric film forming binder material. The imaging member has gained improved properties such as removal of anti-curl layer, desirable structural flatness, electrical properties, mechanical robustness, flexibility, longevity, and copy image qualities over extended use, among others.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2005Publication date: November 16, 2006Inventors: Yuhua Tong, John Yanus, Jin Wu, Steven Sterling, Susan VanDusen

Publication number: 20060216620Abstract: A photoreceptor comprising a charge transport layer doped with a polyarylate polymer is provided. A charge transport layer is doped with about 0.1 to about 10.0% by weight, solids basis, of a polyarylate polymer, such as for example Ardel. Charge transport layers doped with a polyarylate polymer exhibit improved electrical performance in terms of lower Vr and VBG values.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2005Publication date: September 28, 2006Inventors: Min-Hong Fu, Kent Evans, David Skinner, Kathleen Carmichael, June Schneider, Susan VanDusen

Publication number: 20060068309Abstract: A charge transport layer for an imaging member comprising a charge transport material with a nitrogen molecular defense system not exhibiting early onset of charge transport layer fatigue cracking. The nitrogen molecular defense system includes attaching bulky organic groups to charge transport materials. The bulky groups aid in preventing recrystallization of the charge transport molecule and shield the nitrogen from molecular attack, such as by oxidation. The charge transport layer exhibits excellent wear resistance, excellent electrical performance, and outstanding print quality.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2004Publication date: March 30, 2006Inventors: Yuhua Tong, Timothy Fuller, Sean Pan, John Yanus, Alexander Klymachyov, Min-Hong Fu, Dennis Prosser, Susan VanDusen
