    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may include a processor configured to obtain a configuration specification for at least one discontinuous transmission parameter, wherein the configuration specification includes different values for at least two different Quality of Service (QoS) classes. The processor may be further configured to detect uplink data that is to be sent by the UE device to a device via a base station; determine a QoS class associated with the uplink data; select a value for the at least one discontinuous transmission parameter based on the configuration specification and the determined QoS class associated with the uplink data; and send the uplink data to the base station based on the selected value for the at least one discontinuous transmission parameter.

The network device may identify a particular SPID of the SPIDs in the mapping table based on the particular QCI of the service, and may generate a flow request based on the particular SPID. The network device may cause the flow request to be provided to a radio access network (RAN) associated with the user device, to cause the RAN to select a RAN slice for provision of the service to the user device.

    Abstract: A base station device dynamically adjusts the configuration of a special slot when operating in a time division duplexing (TDD) mode. The base station can initially communicate with a user equipment (UE) using a first frequency in a time division duplexing (TDD) mode. Using, for example, a timing advance procedure, the base station can determine when the UE requires an expanded cell range (e.g., if the UE is at the cell range edge). In response, the base station adjusts a configuration of a special slot for the UE. The adjustment to the special slot can comprise an addition of a gap symbol, a prioritizing of uplink transmissions over downlink transmissions, or a reserving of one or more downlink symbols during scheduling.

The allocated resources may be provided during a subsequent second time slot. A second group of UEs may be notified, during the first time slot, of physical RF resources allocated for downlink data for the second group of resources, and such downlink data may be provided to the second group of UEs during the first time slot via the allocated physical RF resources. The assignments of the UEs to the respective groups may change over time based on network load or other metrics.
