  • Patent number: 8396738
Abstract: A method and a system for evaluating, determining and customizing third party marketing services, where a listing of reasonable values for a given criteria is generated and referenced when determining the consideration to be paid for the service related to the criteria. The given criteria may include a geographic area, so that the listing of reasonable values is for a number of geographic areas, and the consideration is determined for services to be provided in any one or combination of the geographic areas. Listing of reasonable values may include a listing of baseline fair market value (FMV) basis points that may be applied in determining the fair market value of marketing services provided. The marketing service provided may be based on a custom marketing plan prepared for a specific partner for a specific geographic area with reference to specific marketing media.

  • Publication number: 20120297287
Abstract: A method of generating and providing script associated with a digital asset is provided. A web application hosted on a server generates script. The script includes code to request the content of the digital asset from a remote site when the code is executed by a browser. The code includes a subscriber identifier for use by the remote site in determining whether a web page is authorized to receive the content of the digital asset. The generated script is provided to a web browser for insertion into, and to become part of, a web page. The script allows for receipt of the content of the digital asset to an authorized web page.

  • Publication number: 20030037072
Abstract: This concerns a method and system for using virtual trading stamps to conduct commerce on public data networks such as the Internet. Virtual trading stamp offers are distributed through the network to network users. These offers are presented on viewable pages of material and may have ancillary or no relevance to other information presented on the same pages. Offers may be presented in the form of icons having the appearance of trading stamps. Sponsors of such offers arrange for their distribution with hosts of what are termed cool sites on the networks (e.g. operators of popular or frequently “surfed” sites). A page transmitted from a cool site may contain plural offers from one or more sponsors. Each offer/icon is linked to a program applet designed to establish network contact with a stamp server when the respective icon is selected (“clicked on”) by a viewer.

  • Patent number: 5675762
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing exchange of data between a peripheral device having a paging mechanism and an application operating in a virtual machine which includes a page directory for exclusive use by the paging mechanism of the peripheral device. The virtual machine is running on a data processing system and preferably contains a block of memory which is divided into various sections of memory. The page directory is provided to the paging mechanism of the peripheral device when the application requires the use of the peripheral device. A section of memory is selectively locked down in response to the section of memory being utilized by the application. Additionally, the page directory is updated with an entry which identifies the section of memory that is locked down. Memory may also be locked down in order to permit the peripheral device to access that section of memory.

  • Patent number: 5396597
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the enhancing efficiency of a data processing system which includes a host microprocessor, a system memory, and a graphics adapter for producing an enhanced graphics display. The graphics adapter is coupled to the data processing system by a bus and includes a video memory and an adapter microprocessor, wherein the adapter microprocessor is less powerful than the host microprocessor in the data processing system. The method and apparatus of the present invention includes the establishment of a stage buffer from a portion of the system memory with the stage buffer, including at least two buffer sections. A first portion of data is transferred from the system memory into a first buffer section.
