Patent number: 12140848Abstract: The present invention relates to variable optical transmission windows and window panels (VLTP) which are used for architectural applications such as building entryway systems and windows. The optical transmission of the VLTPs is reversibly changed by applying an electrical voltage. This disclosure includes combination of more than one VLTP in a single window which darken to different colors. This disclosure is directed to the use and powering of such panels in door and windows. The doors and windows having these VLTPs may also have other electronic devices which provide added user functionality.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2022Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Glass Dyenamics, Inc.Inventors: John P. Cronin, Anoop Agrawal, Christopher Angelo, Clemens Hofbauer, Susana J. Castillo, Lori L. Adams

Patent number: 12098591Abstract: This disclosure includes variable light transmission panels (VLTPs) and their assembly into insulated glass units (IGUs), which can be incorporated into buildings. Disclosed windows provide uniform appearance from outside during the day when a number of such windows are incorporated in a building regardless of their state of light transmission. These disclosures may also be used to make windows which tint to different transmitted colors but during the day still appear to be uniform from outside.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2023Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: Glass Dyenamics, Inc.Inventors: Anoop Agrawal, Susana J. Castillo, Sahila Perananthan, Christopher C. Angelo

Publication number: 20230295983Abstract: The present invention relates to variable optical transmission windows and window panels (VLTP) which are used for architectural applications such as building entryway systems and windows. The optical transmission of the VLTPs is reversibly changed by applying an electrical voltage. The emphasis is placed on doors which can be placed in the field without having certified technicians. The doors and windows having these VLTPs may also have other electronic devices which provide added user functionality.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Applicant: Glass Dyenamics, Inc.Inventors: John P. CRONIN, Anoop AGRAWAL, Christopher ANGELO, Clemens HOFBAUER, Susana J. CASTILLO, Lori L. ADAMS

Publication number: 20230025476Abstract: Methods and materials to fabricate laminated devices are disclosed, particularly the laminates where the interlayer is deposited by 3d printing (or also called additive manufacturing process). In particular, emphasis is placed on the fabrication of electrooptical devices, including electrochromic, thermochromic and liquid crystal devices. In the electrochromic devices at least the electrolytic interlayer or optionally some of the other layers are deposited by this process, and for the other two the interlayer contains thermochromic and the liquid crystalline material respectively. In one embodiment printing is used to form both an interlayer and a sealant located at the perimeter of the interlayer. Laminated glass and plastic objects using this invention have many applications including their use in windows for building and transportation.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2020Publication date: January 26, 2023Applicant: Polyceed Inc.Inventors: Susana J. CASTILLO, Anoop AGRAWAL, Jason Kyle SMITH

Publication number: 20230007876Abstract: The present invention relates to variable optical transmission windows and window panels which are used for architectural applications, particularly in building entryway systems. This disclosure is directed to the use and powering of such panels in door and windows that, in part, physically open by manual or automatic sliding, tilting, pushing or rotating about the hinges, unless specifically mentioned otherwise. The doors may also have other electronic devices which provided added user functionality.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2022Publication date: January 12, 2023Applicant: Glass Dyenamics, Inc.Inventors: Anoop AGRAWAL, Christopher ANGELO, Clemens HOFBAUER, Susana J.
