A first portion of the data is provided to a server. The server provides the first portion of the data to a second removable storage module coupled to a recipient communication device responsive to a determination that a recipient communication device has a right to the data. Abstract: A method and system are provided for implementing a call transfer service over a telephone network, a subscription for the call transfer service being alterable by a call transfer service subscriber, and includes a subscriber graphic user interface through which the subscriber may provide call transfer service information. A telephone network node such as a platform may further be provided, the platform in communication with the subscriber graphic user interface, and including a memory device that stores call transfer service information for use in implementing the call transfer service. The platform further includes a call transfer service controller coupled with the memory device, that communicates with the subscriber graphic user interface, and that receives call transfer service information, and updates the subscriber's call transfer service subscription responsive to information received at the graphic user interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for notifying a user of a calling card balance are disclosed. Generally, a calling card platform determines a telephone call using a calling card has ended. The calling card platform recalculates a calling card balance after the telephone call has ended and notifies the user of the recalculated balance via a communication channel based on a notification preference. The calling card platform notifies the user of the recalculated balance irrespective of the recalculated calling card balance.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for use in billing a toll-free telephone call over a telephone network, the telephone call corresponding to a first toll-free telephone number and initiated by a calling party from an initiating telephone number. In one embodiment, a toll-free telephone call is received at a service node, and routed to a first termination corresponding with the first toll-free telephone number, where the service node remains within the call path of the toll-free telephone call. A first call record is initiated for the toll-free telephone call at the service node, and it is determined at the service node whether the toll-free telephone call is to be connected with a second toll-free telephone number. A second call record is initiated at the service node, where a connection with a second termination corresponding with the second toll-free telephone number has been established.

Abstract: A communication monitor for transferring a communication to a second recipient from a first recipient includes an identifier receiver that receives at least one subscriber-defined transfer identifier that can be invoked by the first recipient to redirect the communication from the first recipient. The communication monitor also includes a communication transferor that monitors the communication and coordinates transferring the communication to the second recipient from the first recipient in response to the communication monitor monitoring a signal from the first recipient after the first recipient invokes an elective communication-transfer function using at least one subscriber-defined transfer identifier.

Abstract: A menu routing service routes calls made to a customer's toll-free number according to customized routing instructions. A service provider establishes service parameters, which include the toll-free number and a restriction associated with at least one of the customer and the service provider. To customize call routing, a web server receives instructions from the customer to associate the toll-free number with a terminating number, such as a directory number or switch ID and trunk group numbers. When the restriction prohibits the association, the web server determines whether the service parameters further include an override indicator associated with the customer that overrides the restriction. The toll-free number is associated with the terminating number when service parameters include the override indicator.

Abstract: An advanced intelligent network (AIN) telephony service provided in a public switched telephone network (PSTN) is controlled based on instructions from a subscriber, browsing a packet switched data network using a voice browser. The packet switched data network may include the Internet. The subscriber is connected to the voice browser through the PSTN using, for example, a GR-1129 audio channel set up between the voice browser and a switch in the PSTN. The browsing is based on a verbal instruction received from the subscriber through the PSTN. A web server in the packet switched data network is connected to the voice browser and call routing data is retrieved based on the verbal instruction. At least one call is routed through the PSTN based on the call routing data retrieved from the web server.
