Based on the distance and the actual size of the content area, an apparent size of the content area is calculated, and presentation of the content is modified based on the apparent size of the content area.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for generating a search query using flexible autocomplete suggestions. A text input is received, and a plurality of portions of the text input, each corresponding to a different search parameter, are identified. For each of the identified portions, at least one suggested alternate text is retrieved based on the corresponding attribute, and a user interface element is generated for display in which the original text of the respective portion is displayed, along with the suggested alternate texts for that portion, which are selectable by the user. Upon receiving selection of a suggested alternate text in at least one user interface element, a search query is generated based on each portion for which no alternate has been selected, and each selected alternate text. Search request are retrieved in response to the search query, and the results are generated for display to the user.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating content based on format-specific screenplay parsing techniques. The techniques generate and present content by generating new dynamic content structures to generate content segments for output on electronic devices. In one disclosed technique, a first instance of a first character name is identified from the screenplay document. A first set of character data following the first instance of the first character name from the screenplay document and preceding an instance of a second character name from the screenplay document is then identified. Upon identification of the first set of character data, a content structure including an object is generated. The object includes attribute table entries based on the first set of character data. A content segment is generated for output based on the content structure (e.g., a 3D animation of the first character interacting within a scene).

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for displaying subjects of a portion of content and searching for content related to a particular subject in the content. Media data of content is analyzed during playback, and a number of audio signatures are identified. Each audio signature is associated, based on audio characteristics, with a particular subject within the content. The audio signature is stored, along with a timestamp corresponding to a playback position at which the audio signature begins, in association with an identifier of the particular subject. Upon receiving a command, icons representing each of a number of audio signatures at or near the current playback position are displayed. Upon receiving user selection of an icon corresponding to a particular signature, a portion of the content corresponding to the audio signature is played back or a search is performed for content related to the signature represented by the selected icon.

The methods and systems use an activity engine to learn a duration of an activity by receiving input with a start cue indicating a start of an activity and receiving input with a stop cue indicating an end of the activity. The activity engine determines an average or estimated duration for the activity based on the time difference between the start cue and the stop cue so that when the activity engine receives a third input and identifies the start cue, a content curation engine identifies one or more content items with a total runtime substantially similar to the average or estimated duration for the activity and provides the content for consumption.

After receiving selection of the second entity, a search query is constructed based on the voice input, the first entity, and the second entity. The search query is transmitted to a database and, in response, the media device receives at least one identifier of a least one content item. The at least one identifier is then generated for display to the user.

A system may retrieve, for each of the content items, an emoji match score based on the emoji portion and a textual match score based on the text portion. A system generates, for each of the content items, a respective aggregate score based on the respective emoji match score and textual match score. A system may generate for display representations of the content items ordered according to the respective aggregate scores.
