    Abstract: A system and method are provided that allow a user to search for products within the inventory of multiple vendors. The disclosed web-based application allows a customer to maintain a virtual inventory. A web server is maintained separately from the customer's and vendor's computer system and the web server runs virtual inventory software. A database server is interfaced with the web server and the database server stores user settings specific to the user. A plurality of vendor inventory databases is interfaced with the web server.
