  • Patent number: 8006099
Abstract: In a state in which a fingerprint authentication mode is set, a fingerprint authentication unit authenticates a fingerprint input in accordance with an input instruction, performs unlocking if the authentication is successful, instructs another fingerprint input if the authentication fails, and determines unauthorized use and switches the mode to a PIN code authentication mode if the fingerprint authentication sequentially fails for a predetermined number of times. In a state of the PIN code authentication mode, a PIN code authentication unit authenticates a PIN code input in accordance with an input instruction, performs unlocking if the authentication is successful, instructs another PIN code input if the authentication fails, and determines unauthorized use and turns off the power source if the authentication sequentially fails for a predetermined number of times.

  • Patent number: 7821562
Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable terminal provided with a camera to take a picture of a subject comprised of a lens, and an image pickup device. The invention is aimed to provide a portable terminal in which a mirror image or information about photographing status is displayed on a first display which can be seen from the object side when an object is photographed using the portable terminal, and the image is displayed on a second display which can be seen from the to-be-taken subject so that a person to be photographed can easily check his/her image or photographing status. To this end, the first display is provided on the surface on which the lens is provided and the second display is provided on a side different from the side on which the lens is provided. Provision is made of a display unit that displays the image, photographed by directing the lens to the subject, on the first and the second displays.

  • Patent number: 7719602
Abstract: An electronic device can perform photographing by an AF (Auto-Focusing) function and a PF (Pan-Focus) function, and can give improvement of quickness of the taking of an image by automatically selecting an image, which is taken into the device, from a relation between the AF function and a shutter operation. The electronic device has an imaging part which catches an image obtained through an optical system, and also has a focusing mechanism which moves the optical system to an auto-focusing position or a fixed focus position. The electronic device further comprises a switch and a control part. The switch functions as a focusing switch ordering the focusing mechanism a focusing action, and also functions as a shutter switch ordering taking of an image caught by the imaging part. By this, the switch orders the focusing action or the taking of the caught image.

  • Patent number: 7546347
Abstract: A determining unit determines a state where a new electronic mail cannot be captured unless protection of an existing electronic mail is released, when the new electronic mail is received, or an inquiry is made to a mail server. The state where a new electronic mail cannot be captured unless protection of an existing electronic mail is released is, for example, is a state where a received electronic mail box is full, and all of existing electronic mails are set to be protected, or the like. A guidance unit makes to a user a notification that the protection must be released, if the determining unit determines the state where a new electronic mail cannot be captured unless the protection of an existing electronic mail is released.

  • Patent number: 7349716
Abstract: A mobile terminal device, an information processing method and an information processing program make it possible to select an optional function process during execution of a specific function process, such as a dictionary function process during a call, and executes simultaneously each function process or make that execution possible. Also, the device, the method and the program make it possible to copy information indicated in an optional screen of an indication part, and make it possible to indicate that information in a screen of a different function process. That is, the mobile terminal device has a communication processing part, a function processing part, a selection input part (an input operation part) and a control part. The communication processing part executes each communication process of voice communication, such as telephonic voice communication, and non-voice communication, such as non-voice data communication.

  • Patent number: 7188304
Abstract: A conversion processing system includes conversion processing which converts a conversion object into one or more conversion candidates, and performs the conversion processing related to time information. The conversion object is a letter or a symbol, for example. The system has a dictionary, a time detection part and a conversion part. The dictionary relates one or more conversion candidates corresponding to the conversion object to the time information, and stores these. The time detection part outputs the time information. When converting the conversion object into one or more conversion candidates, the conversion part refers to the time information. By this, the conversion processing can be optimized, and conversion efficiency can be improved.
