  • Patent number: 7047970
Abstract: A heat generating unit is incorporated in a mask in order to actively supply warm steam, and also drug vapor, to the nose and throat, and moisturize the upper respiratory tract. It is preferable that a metal powder, salt, and water be contained in the heat generating unit, and that an exothermic composition that releases steam in conjunction with the oxidation reaction of the metal powder be used therein. It is preferable that either an inhalation valve or exhalation valve be provided in the main mask body.

  • Publication number: 20040077969
Abstract: An apparatus has a first electrode group (1) including at least one electrode and arranged on the abdominal surface of a subject (human) with the navel of the subject serving as a reference position, a second electrode group (2) including at least one electrode and arranged on the back surface of the subject, a third electrode group (3) including at least two electrodes and arranged on the surface of the subject at an intermediate position between the first and second electrode groups (1, 2), and a controller (8) to supply a current between an electrode selected from the first electrode group (1) and an electrode selected from the second electrode group (2), measure a voltage generated between two electrodes of the third electrode group (3), and compute an abdominal fat quantity of the subject according to the measured voltage.

  • Patent number: 4341628
Abstract: A belt pressure filter comprises a gravity dewatering zone for dewatering a sludge as a function of the gravity and a forced dewatering zone for a forced dewatering of the sludge by means of external pressure. An endless filter belt travels from the gravity dewatering zone to the forced dewatering zone. The coagulated sludge is supplied onto the filter belt by means of the gravity dewatering zone. Information representing the level of the sludge deposited on the belt is obtained as an information concerning the dewatering ability of the coagulated sludge supplied onto the filter belt. The traveling speed of the filter belt is calculated and controlled on the basis of the above described level information which represents the layer thickness and hence also the solids concentration. The optimum amount of a dosage of a coagulating agent is determined based on the traveling speed of the filter belt as calculated.
