  • Patent number: 7494173
Abstract: A retractable seat of laterally folding type wherein a seat portion thereof is caused by a motor to displace in a direction laterally of a vehicle. The seat portion is pivotally connected, via connecting arm and support elements, with a support base element provided in the vehicle body. The motor and drive transmission elements are securely provided in the seat portion, such that the motor is operatively connected via the drive transmission element with a drive shaft fixed to one end of the connecting arm. Operation of the motor causes displacement of the seat portion in the direction laterally of the vehicle body toward one of a use position on a floor and a non-use storage position where the seat portion extends upright adjacent to a lateral side of the vehicle. The motor is controlled by electric and electronic elements and systems.

  • Patent number: 7090059
Abstract: A powered slide rail device including an electrode element extending along the lower rail thereof and a contact brush element provided in the upper runner rail element thereof which is slidably engaged with the lower rail. The electrode element is so arranged as to provide a sloped surface. The contact brush element, with which an output connector is electrically connected, projects from the upper runner rail element and contacts such sloped surface of electrode element. A biasing element may be provided to retain the contact brush element in contact with the sloped surface of electrode element.

  • Patent number: 7066539
Abstract: Vehicle seat of retractable type having a rotary support link mechanism, which is displaceable between upper use position and lower storage position. The rotary support link mechanism comprises a forward link element and a backward link element smaller in length than the forward link element, wherein the forward link element has upper and lower pivotal support points between the seat and a vehicle floor, while the backward link element has upper and lower pivotal support points between the seat and vehicle floor. The lower pivotal support point of the backward link element is disposed backwardly of and above the lower pivotal support point of the forward link element, and the backward link element is inclined more backwardly than the forward link element. With this arrangement, the seat can be displaced by operation of motor between the upper use position and lower storage position in a manner analogous to a manual operation.

  • Patent number: 5020762
Abstract: A power seat for an automobile wherein the seat cushion is adjustable in height or in a fore-and-aft direction by means of an electric motor. In such power seat, an upstanding bracket is provided on a slide rail adapted to permit fore-and-aft sliding movement of the seat cushion, and the electric motor is disposed at the lateral surface of the bracket. Hence, there is no need to dispose the motor beneath the seat cushion, and the seating point is lowered more, giving a wide space in the cabin of the automobile.
