  • Patent number: 7858542
Abstract: There is provided a flame-retardant knit fabric which can exhibit texture and comfort inherent to materials such as cotton and urethane foam used for upholstered furniture such as a mattress and chair and bedding products such as a pillow, mattress pad and bedding, the flame-retardant knit fabric which can provide these products with high flame retardance. The internal structure of a mattress is covered with a flame-retardant knit fabric that comprises at least two fibers selected from the group consisting of (A) a halogen-containing fiber, (B) a cellulosic fiber, (C) a flame-retardant cellulosic fiber and (D) a polyester fiber, has a weight per unit area of at least 140 g/m2 and a thickness of at least 0.5 mm, and contains a flame retardant at a ratio of at least 2% by weight based on the while fabric.

  • Publication number: 20090311933
Abstract: A low-resilience urethane foam cushion that is comfortable and has high flame retardancy. It sufficiently retains the unique texture and comfort inherent in low-resilience urethane foam materials for use as cushions or pillows. It further retains the intact excellent texture, touch feeling, and other properties inherent in fibrous materials. The low-resilience urethane foam cushion is obtained by covering a low-resilience urethane foam with a flame-barrier fabric made of at least two members selected from the group consisting of halogenated fibers (A), flame-retardant cellulosic fibers (B), cellulosic fibers (C), and polyester fibers (D), wherein the sum of (A) and (B) is 25 to 75 wt. % of the flame-barrier fabric, the sum of (B) and (C) is 30 wt. % or more of the flame-barrier fabric, the amount of (C) alone is up to 75 wt. % of the flame-barrier fabric, and the amount of (D) alone is up to 30 wt. % of the flame-barrier fabric.

  • Publication number: 20090025144
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a bedding in which polyester having excellent elasticity is used for a batting therein, and which is provided with high-grade flame retardance so as to withstand long-time flaming, even though only a small amount of a halogen-containing fiber is used therein. By configuring the flame-retardant bedding product so that it is composed of a batting and a ticking for covering the batting and that the batting comprises a cellulose fiber (A), a polyester fiber (B), and a halogen-containing fiber (C) as essential components, the bedding product is caused to achieve the above-described object. In addition to the excellent flame retardance, the bedding product of the present invention is allowed to have excellent cushiony properties, since a large amount of a polyester fiber can be used therein because the amount of a halogen-containing fiber used therein is relatively small.

  • Publication number: 20080254699
Abstract: A bedding product, such as a pillow or cushion, that satisfactorily drawing out peculiar softness and comfort possessed by an internal filling material, realizes comfort and high flame retardance without detriment to the excellent drape and tactile sensation possessed by a fiber material of flame shielding cloth. There is provided a flame retardant bedding product comprising an internal filling material covered by a flame shielding cloth made of fibers containing 5 to 60 wt. % halogenous fiber (A), 5 to 60 wt. % flame retardant cellulose fiber (B), 0 to 75 wt. % cellulose fiber (C) and 0 to 50 wt. % polyester fiber (D).

  • Publication number: 20060234592
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flame resistant fiber composite obtained by compounding: 20 to 85% by weight of a fiber (A) containing 0.5 to 50 parts by weight of an Sb compound to 100 parts by weight of a polymer containing halogen atom of not less than 17% by weight; 5 to 80% by weight of a heat-resistant fiber (B); 0 to 40% by weight of a cellulosic fiber (C); and 0 to 40% by weight of an inflammable fiber (D). Use of the composite in furniture, beddings, etc. in house increasingly improves flame resistance of materials, enabling use in fields requiring advanced flame resistance.
