    Abstract: Provided is an electromagnetic-wave detection apparatus capable of performing accurate detection of an electromagnetic wave. An electromagnetic-wave detection apparatus (10) includes a radiation system (111) configured to radiate an electromagnetic wave toward a space in which a target is present, a first detection unit (20) configured to detect a reflected wave that is the electromagnetic wave radiated by the radiation system and reflected by the target, a calculation unit (145) configured to calculate a distance to the target on the basis of detection information that is obtained by the first detection unit and that relates to the reflected wave, and a radiation control unit (143) configured to cause the radiation system to radiate the electromagnetic wave. The radiation control unit causes a first electromagnetic wave to be radiated and then causes a second electromagnetic wave with a greater output than the first electromagnetic wave to be radiated.
