  • Patent number: 5024253
Abstract: A take-up rate and a let-off rate in warp feed on a loom are controlled while a displacement (.DELTA.L) of a cloth fell position C is taken into account. The system comprises a cloth fell position compensation circuit (2, 16, 21) which outputs a cloth fell compensation signal (.DELTA..omega..sub.c) to compenate a displacement (.DELTA.L) of the cloth fell position (C) when a weaving condition such as a target weft density (D*), a target warp tension (T*) or the kinds of weft and warp yarns is changed. The cloth fell compensation signal is added to a basic warp feed rate (.omega..sub.f) obtained from D*, so that the displacement motion of the cloth fell is completed in a shorter time. According to this compensation, a weft density of a resultant fabric rapidly coincides with the target weft density.

  • Patent number: 4921019
Abstract: A jet loom comprising a weft measuring roller for continuously drawing out a weft from a supply package, a weft storage unit for temporarily accumulating and storing the weft drawn out from the supply package by the weft measuring roller, a main nozzle for jetting air to insert the weft into the warp shed, and a driving unit for sinusoidally varying the rotating speed of the weft measuring roller. The weft stored in the weft storage unit runs in a free running period in a free running mode at a comparatively high running speed. After the stored weft has exhausted, the weft is supplied for insertion directly from the weft measuring roller, so that the weft runs in a constrained running mode at a running speed constrained by the surface speed of the weft measuring roller.

  • Patent number: 4621490
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing a fasciated yarn, utilizing an air nozzle for false-twisting a fiber bundle. The apparatus is provided with a fiber passage comprising an inlet portion, a small channel, and a large channel, and is provided also with a contact area on an inner wall of the small channel, this contact area being formed by the intersection at an angle of the small channel and the large channel.During the spinning operation, the fiber bundle is forced against the contact area, effectively suppressing a twist imparted by a vortex such that it does not ascend toward the upstream region. Also, since ballooning can be suppressed by the contact area, the size of the small channel can be increased, resulting in the intake by suction of a sufficient amount of air in the inlet portion.

  • Patent number: 4516611
Abstract: A weft yarn storage unit disposed between a yarn supply package and a weft insertion device for storing a weft yarn to be inserted in the warp shed, comprises a differential yarn feeding device for feeding the weft yarn from the yarn supply package, and a yarn storage means for winding the fed weft yarn therearound by co-operating with the differential yarn feeding device, storing the wound weft yarn therearound and unwinding the stored weft yarn therefrom by co-operating with the weft insertion device, the yarn storage means being continuously rotating in a direction opposite to the direction in which the weft yarn is unwound at a predetermined circumferential speed in response to an insertion speed of the weft yarn. This weft yarn storage unit allows high-speed weft insertion while preventing the yarn breakage by reducing ballooning of the weft yarn when the weft yarn is released off the yarn storage drum.

  • Patent number: 4489461
Abstract: A novel fiber drafting system is disclosed, according to which fibers of sliver supplied continuously are passed through a first pair of rotatable cooperating rollers while being pressed and compacted into a reduced section by and between a space formed by a groove and a projection formed respectively in and on the circumferential peripheries of the rollers of said first pair. The sliver thus compacted is then transferred to and held by and between a second pair of rollers rotated at a higher peripheral speed than the first pair of rollers, whereby the fibers of sliver are drafted successively between the two pairs of rollers without use of conventional aprons for guiding and supporting the fibers in the drafting zone.

  • Patent number: 4450678
Abstract: An air nozzle, suitable for producing a fasciated yarn, having at least one jet in each of narrow and wide passages along the traveling direction of the fiber bundle. Each jet is directed to generate a vortex whirling reversely from that of the other passage. The twist imparted to the fiber bundle by the vortex generated in the wide passage is restrained by the vortex whirling reversely thereto in the narrow passage. As a result, circumferential fibers of the fiber bundle are less twisted relative to the core portion thereof. During the untwisting operation of the vortex of the wide passage, the circumferential fibers are entangled around the core portion with a twist corresponding to the difference from the core portion, thereby obtaining a well-fasciated yarn.
