  • Patent number: 7664145
Abstract: When a beacon (n?1) that is transmitted from a piconet coordinator (PNC) is detected in a MAC layer of the PNC and a MAC layer of a device (DEV), a detection signal is immediately transmitted to a LINK layer. In the LINK layer, a count is made from the detection of the beacon to a predetermined timing to generate a cycle timer. The PNC adds the PNC cycle timer to the subsequent beacon (n) and transmits the beacon to the DEV. In the LINK layer of the DEV, a comparison is made between a DEV cycle timer generated according to the beacon (n?1) and the PNC cycle timer received from the PNC and uses the value of the difference therebetween to correct the DEV cycle timer to be matched with the PNC cycle timer.

  • Patent number: 6363137
Abstract: Objects of the invention are to enable different kinds of communication apparatus having interfaces of different input/output methods and different signal voltages to be connected to the same interface; to achieve communication processing appropriate to the automatically detected attribute of the communication apparatus; to explicitly indicate optimum communication means; and to enable communications to be automatically resumed even if the communication apparatus is replaced in the middle of communication. The communication apparatus comprises: means for sending the connected state of the communication apparatus and an attribute of the communication apparatus which connected to information terminal apparatus; a signal line for sending a connection notification to the information terminal apparatus; and a signal input section and a signal output section for transferring control signals and data to and from the information terminal apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5758282
Abstract: Each radio terminal monitors generation of address conflict between terminals including the terminal of interest by referring to epoch numbers and addresses of other terminals registered in a history table and an address table in a data memory of a radio LAN adapter of the terminal of interest during data communication of a host computer. When conflict is generated, the terminal of interest resolves the conflict by requesting the communicating terminal to update the address and receiving the updated address. Communication protocol and software for address allocation are stored in a program memory and carried out by a microcontroller. Communication with other terminals is carried out through an antenna, a radio transceiver, and a radio interface.
