Publication number: 20220289048Abstract: A vehicle charging system includes a sensor, a traveling control processor, a traveling drive unit, a transmitter provided on a vehicle configured to travel on a traveling road, and a power-feeding facility provided on the traveling road. The sensor detects obstacles present around the vehicle. The traveling control processor performs traveling control of the vehicle based on the result of detection by the sensor. The traveling drive unit drives the vehicle to travel and includes: a power receiver receiving electric power from the traveling road; a battery storing the electric power; a motor; and an inverter driving the motor with the electric power. The transmitter sends a power-feeding control signal when the sensor detects an obstacle. The power-feeding facility includes: a receiver receiving the power-feeding control signal; a power feeder performing a power-feeding operation; and a power-feeding control unit controlling the power-feeding operation based on the power-feeding control signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2022Publication date: September 15, 2022Applicant: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Susumu MASUYAMA, Yuki NATSUME

Patent number: 9488094Abstract: A direct injection engine includes an ignition assistance section applying energy to fuel injected into a cylinder using an injector to assist auto-ignition combustion of the fuel when the engine is within an auto-ignition combustion operation range. A start time of fuel injection is set within a period from a terminal stage of a compression stroke to a compression top dead center. The energy is applied to the fuel injected into the cylinder in a period from start of the fuel injection to an initial stage of an expansion stroke such that a time of a specific crank angle when an increase rate of in-cylinder pressure, which is a ratio of a change in the in-cylinder pressure to a change in a crank angle in motoring the engine, reaches a negative maximum value overlaps a combustion period when a combustion mass percentage of the fuel ranges from 10% to 90%.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2012Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: Mazda Motor CorporationInventors: Hiroyuki Yamashita, Kazuaki Narahara, Tatsuya Tanaka, Yoshitomo Takahashi, Yusuke Nakao, Takashi Ikai, Hidefumi Fujimoto, Masatoshi Seto, Yoshio Tanita, Kazuo Ichikawa, Shingo Kai, Susumu Masuyama, Hirokazu Nakahashi, Keiji Araki

Patent number: 8256402Abstract: Three or more independent passages are coupled to respective cylinders which are different from each other, and a collective portion where the independent passages collect is provided. An exhaust turbocharger is arranged downstream of the collective portion. Rotary throttle valves are arranged respectively in the independent passages upstream of the collective portion. At least two of the throttle valves are supported by a common rotary axis. The independent passages with the throttle valves supported by the common rotary axis are coupled to cylinders which have exhaust strokes which are not adjacent to each other. Accordingly, the exhaust gas can be supplied to the exhaust turbocharger efficiently.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2010Date of Patent: September 4, 2012Assignee: Mazda Motor CorporationInventors: Naoyuki Yamagata, Susumu Masuyama, Osamu Aoki

Patent number: 8141357Abstract: An engine system with a turbocharger is provided. The system may include an exhaust manifold having plural independent exhaust passages, each of the exhaust passages being connected to an exhaust port of a corresponding engine cylinder. The system may further include a collective part formed by gathering said independent exhaust passages in said exhaust manifold or on a downstream side of said exhaust manifold. The system may further include an exhaust turbocharger connected to a downstream side of said collective part. The system may further include a variable exhaust valve for changing each passage cross-sectional area of said independent exhaust passage at an upstream side of said collective part. The system may further include a controller for controlling said variable exhaust valve, wherein said controller is configured to perform independent exhaust throttle control for reducing a passage cross-sectional area of at least one of said independent exhaust passages.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2008Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: Mazda Motor CorporationInventors: Naoyuki Yamagata, Mikihito Fujii, Susumu Masuyama
