  • Publication number: 20010031634
Abstract: A mobile communication system with a packet switching function which enables sharing of radio resources among mobile stations, wherein a mobile station which has generated a request for communication quality assurance periodically sends a packet for requesting preferential use of a radio channel in order to prevent timeout of the state transition timer, timeout of which would cancel radio channel assignment to the mobile station and bring it into a dormant state if a certain period elapses without transmission or reception of a signal, so that it can remain in the active state and hold the radio channel continuously. In addition, when the mobile station requesting communication quality assurance moves from one cell to another or requests radio channel assignment, the base station controller controls the radio base station so that the mobile station can be assigned a radio channel by sending a priority request packet.

  • Patent number: 6275518
Abstract: A radio LAN system based on a frequency hopping control scheme in which a deviation between frequency hopping timing in a cell and frequency hopping timing in another cell is measured, and as the deviation increases close to such a degree that causes interference, a frequency hopping pattern currently used in the cell is replaced with another frequency hopping pattern, or the order on the frequency hopping pattern is changed to avoid interference between the cells.

  • Patent number: 6240085
Abstract: A voice communication system, which is connected to LAN to which communication terminals are connected and to a public network to which telephones are connected, is provided with a communication server between the LAN and public network having different protocols from each other. The communication server enables a voice communication between a telephone on the public network and a communication terminal connected to the LAN by performing processing similar to that for a voice communication between two communication terminals connected to the LAN. The communication server determines whether an address of the other party inputted by a user is a communication terminal address or a telephone number, and transmits a voice communication request to a communication terminal of the other party when the address is a communication terminal address.

  • Patent number: 6134431
Abstract: A public key cryptosystem is used for the authentication of a personal station (PS) which subscribes for a plurality of radio communication exchange systems. A public key of PS is registered into a public key DB of a public key management device. A private key is registered into PS. When PS moves into a service area of a certain radio communication exchange system, an exchange in that radio communication exchange system requests the public key management device for a public key of PS and makes a check for authentication of PS based on the public key cryptosystem by use of the received public key. Thereafter, when PS moves into a service area of another radio communication exchange system, an exchange in the other radio communication exchange system similarly requests the public key management device for a public key of PS and receives the same public key.

  • Patent number: 6041408
Abstract: A key distribution method and system are disclosed in which a sender and receivers share a common key information for performing a secure broadcast communication. By use of a center side apparatus, a center generates key information of a receiver in association with a subset inclusive of two or more elements of a proper finite set S1 on the basis of a space determined by a subset inclusive of two or more elements of another finite set S2. A sender side apparatus, a sender makes the multi-address transmission of key distribution data W inclusive of data generated corresponding to each element of the finite set S1 and data generated corresponding to a set of plural receivers through a communication network. By use of a receiver side apparatus, a receiver generates common key information between the sender and the receiver from the key distribution data W and the key information of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 5907676
Abstract: An information processing system continues communication without affecting the operation of an application when a communication line is disconnected due to a communication error. When the application sends a communication connection request to another system, an MS Manager portion connects the application via a communication line. An MS portion sends a control handle, instead of a communication line handle, to the application. When the application sends data, the MS portion changes the control handle appended to the data to the handle of the actual communication line. When data is received from another system, the MS portion changes the handle of the actual communication line to the control handle and passes the control handle to the application. When the communication line is disconnected due to an error, the MS Manager portion connects the application to the other system via another communication line. The MS portion re-sends data not yet received by the other system if there are any.

  • Patent number: 5905495
Abstract: A communication system which can communicate with a party user even when an originator user of a communication terminal does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of the party user with whom the originator user wants to communicate. When its own user A does not know the terminal address of a communication terminal of a user B, a communication terminal of the user A sends an outgoing file having its own terminal address stored therein as an electronic mail directed to the user B. When receiving the outgoing file as the electronic mail, the communication terminal of the user B displays an icon on its display unit to prompt the user B to enter an instruction of performing reply communication. In response to it, when the user B clicks a mouse on the icon, the communication terminal of the user B can perform the reply communication to the communication terminal corresponding to terminal address stored in the outgoing file.

  • Patent number: 5571717
Abstract: A novel multistem strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium to form fruiting bodies is disclosed. The cultivation of the novel strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium is achieved by inoculating a medium with a novel strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium and allowing the formation of fruit bodies, the novel strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium being one capable of giving 65 or more, on the average, of fruiting bodies of a stem length of 20 mm or longer when 10 g of a solid inoculum thereof is inoculated into a medium. The medium is prepared by mixing sawdust (an equivolumetric mixture of sawdust from cedar and that from beech) and rice bran at a ratio by volume of 3:1, adjusting the moisture content to 63% and press-bottling into a polypropylene wide-mouthed bottom (volume: 850 ml) in such a manner as to give 535 g of the contents, whereby fruiting bodies are formed in a conventional manner. Three strains of the multistem strain are provided.

  • Patent number: 5528284
Abstract: In a video communication system including a sending terminal and a receiving terminal connected via a packet switching network, a receiving terminal which has detected loss of a video packet sets a video output into a freeze status and transmits a refresh request command to the sending terminal. Upon receiving the refresh request command, the sending terminal requests a video coder unit to execute refreshing and transmits a series of video packets beginning from an INTRA frame. Upon receiving a packet of the INTRA frame, the receiving terminal releases the freeze status and restarts video information decoding.
