  • Patent number: 7799464
Abstract: At least two types of active materials having different charge and discharge characteristics are combined and incorporated into a same cell to provide a battery. The active materials having different charge and discharge characteristics to be incorporated have any form without limitation to a particulate shape, a plate, a rod or the like. The active materials having different charge and discharge characteristics are incorporated into either or both of the cathode and the anode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 2002
Date of Patent: September 21, 2010
Assignees: Kawasaki Jukogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, Osaka Gas Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Kazuo Tsutsumi, Kazuya Nishimura, Susumu Mitsuda
  • Publication number: 20040248006
Abstract: Electrically conductive filler such as carbon fibers, carbon particles, Ni fibers, Ni particles, Ni foil, Ni-plated fibers, or Ni-plated particles is added to an active material powder such as nickel hydroxide, which is formed into active material products. The active material is cured by using alkali-resistant resin. Thus, particulate active material for use in a three-dimensional battery is produced.

  • Publication number: 20040241540
Abstract: When producing an electrode for use in a three-dimensional battery, an active material is combined with at least one of a separator, a dividing wall, and a current collector for simultaneous formation. Both the dividing wall and the current collector are planar or are so formed as to have projected portions in needle, plate, wave, particle, or the like form. Both the dividing wall and the current collector may be provided with a cooling structure. As an additional current collector, an ion permeable current collector, which has voids therein, permits passage of ions, and exhibits electrical conductive properties, is provided.

  • Patent number: 5100473
Abstract: The present invention relates to processes for producing a material usable as a suitable civil engineering and construction material by treating a combustion ash formed by the combustion of a fluidized bed comprising a coal as the fuel and limestone as a desulfurizing agent. In this process, quick lime contained therein is sufficiently slaked at first by addition of water and heat thus generated is released to prevent disintegration of the product, and then the product is subjected to atmospheric pressure steam treatment to obtain a product of high strength in a short time.
