  • Publication number: 20080245722
Abstract: A filtration apparatus including a tubular element (17) for purifying wastewater that flows from outside to inside, and a spray tube (21) for spraying cleaning water onto the external peripheral surface of the tubular element. In the first step, the external peripheral surface of the tubular element is cleaned and most of solid matter is removed. In the second step, compressed air is fed to the tubular element, and fine solid matter that is embedded in the filter is removed by backwashing.

  • Patent number: 5744559
Abstract: A macro-azo initiator obtained by reacting a compound (A) having an azo group in the molecule and having a reactive functional group at each end of the molecule with a compound (B) having an azo group in the molecule and having at each end of the molecule a functional group reactive with the reactive functional groups of the compound (A), is effective for a polymerization process of one or more vinyl monomers and a production process of a block polymer.

  • Patent number: 5520145
Abstract: A valve timing controller for varying the rotating phase of a cam shaft which drives a valve of an internal combustion engine. A pulley is disposed on the circumference of the cam shaft at an end to be freely rotatable. In the pulley, a first hydraulic chamber and a second hydraulic chamber are made, and these hydraulic chambers are separated in the circumferential direction of the pulley by a vane located on the circumference of the cam shaft. By controlling the pressures in the first and second hydraulic chambers, the vane is set selectively in a middle position, a valve timing retardation position which is an opposite position with respect to a pulley rotating direction and a valve timing advance position which is a farther forward position with respect to the pulley rotating direction. The cam shaft rotates with the movement of the vane.

  • Patent number: 5505168
Abstract: A variable lift height valve driving device which drives a valve of an internal combustion engine, varying the lift height of the valve. An inner shaft is disposed in a hollow cam shaft to be capable of reciprocating along the axis. A primary cam which has a primary cam surface is fitted around the hollow cam shaft at a specified position, and a secondary cam which has a secondary cam surface is fitted to the primary cam. With movement of the inner shaft, the secondary cam moves such that the secondary cam surface is set in a position to be on a level with the primary cam surface or in a position to protrude outward from the primary cam surface.

  • Patent number: 5119068
Abstract: A spoiler to be mounted on rear part of an automobile comprising a movable plate capable of freely opening and closing itself and which forms a part of an upper plate of a main body. A stop lamp is mounted on the movable plate. The movable plate and the stop lamp interlock a foot brake of the automobile so that the movable plate is opened and the stop lamp is lit when driver steps on the foot brake. The stop lamp comes out on the rear spoiler and emits a beam light rearward. When a driver releases the foot brake, the movable plate is closed and the stop lamp is put out.

  • Patent number: 4785374
Abstract: A zinc-metallized base material for metallized capacitors and a process for its production in which a vacuum-deposited zinc layer being formed on at least one side of a base material composed of film or thin capacitor paper, and a surface protective layer composed of a substance which shows a predetermined vapor pressure at a predetermined temperature being provided thereon in a predetermined thickness to thereby improve the humidity resistance of the vacuum-deposited zinc layer.

  • Patent number: 4245053
Abstract: A novel porous, weakly acidic, itaconic acid ion exchange resin and a process for its preparation are disclosed. The process comprises the copolymerization of the beta-monoalkyl ester of itaconic acid and a cross-linking agent such as divinyl benzene in the presence of a pore forming agent selected from the group consisting of aliphatic hydrocarbons of from 5 to 8 carbon atoms, alicyclic hydrocarbons of from 5 to 8 carbon atoms and halogenated hydrocarbons of from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, followed by hydrolysis of the resulting copolymer. The macroreticular itaconic acid ion exchange resin of this invention is characterized by an excellent combination of exchange capacity, heavy metals capturing capacity, ion exchange rate and gas adsorptive capacity.

  • Patent number: 4069859
Abstract: In direct pouring of molten metal for an ingot-making process, hollow long bodies made from self-fluxing heat-resistant sheets are used as a splash-preventive pipe. The self-fluxing heat-resistant sheet is composed of one or more inorganic fibers having fixed softening and fusion temperatures, binders and silicate fillers. The fusion rate and temperature of the sheet are selected in accordance with the teeming rate and temperature to insure that the body end is fused and consumed while being submerged in a given depth below the molten metal surface in a mold.
