  • Patent number: 4863219
Abstract: An arrangement for mounting a reclining device to a seat, wherein the seat is provided with a reclining device having a lower bracket formed with a bent intermediate part, thus defining a recessed lower part therein, a slide rail device under the seat, and a seat belt anchor, and wherein, on the slide rail device, erected is a base bracket having a bent support portion formed at its upper end. The lower bracket and seat belt anchor are firmly secured to the base bracket, such that the bent support portion of the base bracket is juxtaposed on the bent intermediate part of the lower bracket. Accordingly, a downward load applied to the lower bracket and an upward pulling force to the seat belt anchor are counterbalanced at those juxtaposed bent intermediate part and bent support portion into a nil, whereby the seat is protected against deformation.

  • Patent number: 4844543
Abstract: A rotation mechanism for a rotatable seat, in 5 which four rollers are arranged at the seat such that they are disposed equidistant at 90-degree angle from one another, and a substantially isosceles triangle shaped guide member is provided at the floor side of a vehicle such that its vertex extends towards the window-side wall of the vehicle. One of the four rollers is in a rolling contact with the vertex of the guide member when the seat is set in a normal seating position. Thus, with a small rotative force, the seat can be rotated without contact with the windowside wall of the vehicle so as to orient the seat towards a desired seating direction.

  • Patent number: 4844544
Abstract: A fore-and-aft adjusting device for head rest used in an automotive seat, which is adapted for adjusting the position of the head rest in the forward and backward direction relative to the seat. In the device, provided is a friction member for that adjustment purpose, which is embracingly supported by a rigid embracing support member of substantially U shape in section, the embracing support member being integrally provided on the head rest frame. The friction member is therefore prevented against deformation by virtue of such embracing support member.
