Patent number: 6509490Abstract: In a method for separating isophthalonitrile from a gas produced by causing m-xylene to react with ammonia and oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst, the gas is brought into contact with an organic solvent having a boiling point lower than that of isophthalonitrile; a liquid in which isophthalonitrile is trapped in a trapping step is distilled, to thereby recover isophthalonitrile and the organic solvent from the top of the column and separate at the bottom of the column impurities having boiling points higher than that of isophthalonitrile; and the organic solvent is recovered from the top of the rectification column and liquefied isophthalonitrile of high purity is recovered at the bottom of the column.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2001Date of Patent: January 21, 2003Assignee: Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co. Inc.Inventors: Susumu Otsuka, Takuji Shitara, Fumisada Kosuge, Kazuhiko Amakawa

Publication number: 20020038054Abstract: A method for producing xylylenediamine by hydrogenating phthalonitrile synthesized through ammoxidation of xylene, wherein phthalonitrile is trapped in an organic solvent (A) by bringing a gas produced through ammoxidation into direct contact with the organic solvent (A), and hydrogenation including adding liquid ammonia to the resultant mixture is carried out without separation of phthalonitrile trapped in the organic solvent (A). Through this method, the phthalonitrile can be readily recovered from the produced gas and at high yield without need for new equipment, and xylylenediamine can be efficiently produced through hydrogenation. Xylylenediamine of high purity can be obtained by subjecting the produced xylylenediamine to extraction by use of an organic solvent (B) and water.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2001Publication date: March 28, 2002Inventors: Kenichi Nakamura, Susumu Otsuka, Fumisada Kosuge, Takuji Shitara, Kazuhiko Amakawa

Patent number: 6123313Abstract: A seismic isolation apparatus is structured such that a pair of seismic isolation mechanisms are formed each having a pair of upper and lower clamping members formed in the shape of a rectangular frame, wherein upper and lower roller guide surfaces, in each of which a longitudinal central portion is formed as a concavely arcuate curved surface and portions respectively extending therefrom are formed as convexly arcuate curved surfaces, are formed on the four sides of the upper and lower clamping members, and wherein rollers each having a circular cross section are respectively interposed between the upper and lower roller guide surfaces. The pair of seismic isolation mechanisms are installed by being superposed on top of each other such that the rolling directions of the rollers in the two seismic isolation mechanisms are perpendicular to each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1998Date of Patent: September 26, 2000Assignees: Okumura Corporation, Oiles CorporationInventors: Susumu Otsuka, Kunio Hayakawa, Ikuo Shimoda, Kiyoharu Suzuki, Masami Mochimaru, Mitsuru Miyazaki

Patent number: 5544452Abstract: A passive vibration-damping unit in which movable upper members with a weight mounted thereon are superposed on fixed lower members with roller members interposed therebetween is installed in a highest story of a high-rise building. An active vibration-damping unit for actively causing the movable upper members of the passive vibration-damping unit to move in a shaking manner by means of a servo motor is incorporated in the passive vibration-damping unit. When the vibration of the building has occurred, the weight is allowed to move forcibly in the vibration-damping direction by means of the active vibration-damping unit. When the vibration has reached a limit value of the relative displacement of the active vibration-damping unit or a limit value of the torque of the servo motor, only the operation of the passive vibration-damping unit is continued. When the vibration has subsided to a certain extent, the active vibration-damping unit is operated again.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 1994Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignees: Oiles Corporation, Okumura CorporationInventors: Takafumi Fujita, Ikuo Shimoda, Masami Mochimaru, Susumu Otsuka, Nobuyasu Kawai, Kurimoto Kurimoto, Kanemasa Inaba

Patent number: 4691246Abstract: A recording circuit for a video tape recorder which records superposedly a frequency-modulated audio signal with a frequency-modulated luminance signal and a carrier color signal converted to a low frequency band records a carrier wave signal which is frequency-modulated by the luminance signal at a substantially constant recording current within the frequency range corresponding to a range from the sync signal leading edge to the white peak. In an ordinary recording circuit, the extent of erasure of the recorded audio signal varies with the content of the frequency-modulated luminance signal when the luminance signal is recorded on the recording track of the frequency-modulated audio signal, because recording is made by increasing a recording current for a signal having an instantaneous frequency which is low.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1984Date of Patent: September 1, 1987Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kuniaki Miura, Yoshinori Okada, Isao Fukushima, Susumu Otsuka
