The server receives the firmware request from the client repeatedly and returns the firmware data for the obtaining data length from the obtaining start address with respect to each firmware request.     Abstract: A transmitting apparatus transmits contents data of the same contents in the same reproducing positions to the respective receiving apparatuses at the same time. The receiving apparatuses specifies a reception start time at which contents data of next contents is first received, and adds a same delay time set in each of the receiving apparatuses to the reception start time so as to set a reproduction start time of next contents. The receiving apparatuses end the reproduction of the on-reproducing contents at the reproduction start time, and starts reproduction of the contents data of the next contents. Therefore, even when the reproducing positions slightly shift from each other among the receiving apparatuses during reproduction of the contents, the reproduction start times of the next contents can be synchronized with each other among all the receiving apparatuses.

    Abstract: While a client reproduces a moving picture, and fast-forward reproducing is carried out in the process of reproducing a moving picture based on a frame, the client transmits a search request to a server. The server searches for the frame of I picture based on a condition in the search request in the fast-forwarding direction (reproducing direction) from the frame. The server uses a search table it has. As a result of the search, the server sequentially extracts frames of I picture and transmits them to the client. The client reproduces the frames every time it receives one of them. Therefore, a network AV system allows the memory capacity of a client to be reduced as much as possible and capable of special reproducing such as fast-forward reproducing and reverse-reproducing.

Therefore, traffic between the server and the client can be reduced when the server updates the database.
