Abstract: A processor activates a first monitoring process for initializing a timer and a second monitoring process with higher priority than the first monitoring process. The processor executes the second monitoring process to monitor whether the first monitoring process has been executed. When determining that the first monitoring process has not been executed, the processor executing the second monitoring process determines whether the load state of the processor satisfies prescribed conditions. If the load state satisfies the prescribed conditions, the processor executing the second monitoring process initializes the timer.

Abstract: A relay device includes: a relay to relay a frame transmitted and received between transmission devices as a termination of a transferring path of a piece of data; an information generator to obtain a piece of path identification information for identifying the transferring path and a piece of device identification information for identifying the transmission device and generate a piece of control information based on the obtained piece of path identification information and the piece of device identification information; and an alarm signal transmitter to generate an alarm signal based on the control information generated by the information generator when an error occurs in the transferring path and transmit the generated alarm signal.

Abstract: To provide a transmission apparatus and a transmission method in which change of connection information (settings) on an operation side of all transmission apparatuses is carried out in a state in which all the transmission apparatuses are synchronized with one another without interrupting a service for a path line of End-to-End. The transmission apparatus for carrying out transmission of information to/from other transmission apparatuses through a transmission line stores a setting of a path for transmission of information to/from other transmission apparatuses in an operation side setting unit, stores a setting after change of the path in a non-operation side setting unit, stores time for changing the path to output an instruction to change the path at a timing synchronous with the other transmission apparatuses based on the time for the change, and switches a path based on the setting on an operation side such that the path is set on a non-operation side in response to the instruction for the change.
