Abstract: An enhanced data networking service is disclosed that assists a patron in locating a resource provider who might be capable of providing the resource (e.g., information, goods, realty, intangibles, or services, etc.) sought by the patron and also initiates a telecommunication session between the patron and the resource provider so that they may communicate and provide the patron with the resource sought. The telecommunication session can be a voice telecommunications session, video telecommunications session, or a text telecommunications session. The telecommunications session can be conducted via the public switched telephone network or a data network such as the Internet. An illustrative embodiment of the present invention comprises: receiving, via a data network, at least one keyword from a patron; querying a database with the at least one keyword to select a resource provider; and initiating a telecommunication session between the patron and the resource provider.

Abstract: A plurality of user personas relating to various criteria for performing tasks for a user is created. A policy manager for various criteria, which apply to the user regardless of any one persona among the plurality of personas, including sub-personas thereof is established. At least one user persona from among the plurality of user personas is selected. A computer network searching task based on the policy manager and the at least one user persona selected from among the plurality of user personas is performed. Results of the computer network searching task for the user in at least a two dimensional graphical representation are presented.

Abstract: A method of anonymously providing user information while browsing internet web sites by inputting a data information record into storage, dynamically generating a user alias, linking the user alias with the user data record to form a user infotmation record (UIR) and then transmitting the anonymous user information record automatically or in response to user commands. This alias identification is transmitted to a remote internet operating computer of a web site that receives the information inputted for collecting information, such as statistical or demographic information. Once the combined UIR has been formed, a communication protocol of the invention allows the user to deliver the UIR to any web site that is accessed. The protocol of the invention also allows the web site operator to read the UIR and aggregate any information it desires about the user. However, as noted, the web site can only gain access to the user's alias identification in combination with the user data.

One member of the plurality can provide telecommunication functions, such as wireline telephony or wireless telephony. Another module of the plurality of functionally specific modules can provide paging functionality. Another module of the plurality can provide card reading functions for carrying out financial transactions or providing entertainment. Yet another module of the plurality could provide video game playing functionality using a game playing input, such as a touch screen display, a trackball, or a joystick.
