Abstract: An aqueous formulation for dispensing as a spray polymeric microcapsules containing at least one active ingredient, the aqueous formulation comprising: (i) water; (ii) polymeric microcapsules having an oil-soluble core containing the at least one active ingredient; (iii) a cross linked acrylic acid co-polymer; (iv) a neutralising amine for activating the cross linked acrylic acid copolymer to form a gel suspension for the polymeric microcapsules whereby the polymeric microcapsules are suspended in the water; (v) a chelant for protecting the aqueous formulation against destabilisation by excessive metal ions; and (vi) an inhibitor for inhibiting bacterial growth in the water.

Abstract: A granular detergent composition is provided containing (a) from 3% to 30% by weight of the composition of a surfactant system containing from 30% to 100% by weight of the surfactant system of high-sudsing surfactant selected from alkyl sulfate, alkyl ethoxysulfate, polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactant, and mixtures thereof; (b) from 0.05% to 20% of the composition of a suds suppressing system comprising in combination(i) a spray on component, comprising antifoam compound and a carrier fluid wherein said spray-on component is incorporated into said granular detergent composition by being sprayed on to one or more of the granular components of the composition(ii) a particulate component, comprising in combination an antifoam compound and a water-soluble or water-dispersible carrier material, wherein said granular detergent composition is free from alkyl benzene sulfonate surfactant.

Abstract: Detergent compositions were prepared which contain 1-10% of a fatty acid amide, in which the carbon is attached to a C.sub.15 -C.sub.17 hydrocarbon, and wherein one of the nitrogen substituents is a polyhydroxyhydrocarbyl having a linear hydrocarbon chain with at least three hydroxyl groups pendent therefrom. Said compositions further comprise 1-6% by weight of an insoluble ethoxylated C.sub.12 -C.sub.15 primary alcohol containing an average of three ethoxylate groups per mole.

Abstract: Granular detergent compositions of density >55 g/liter are provided comprising a plurality of particulate components, wherein one or more surfactant-containing particulate components comprise a surfactant system consisting essentially of one or more primary anionic or nonionic surfactants in intimate admixture with a water-soluble C.sub.11 -C.sub.18 alkyl ethoxysulfate salt containing an average of from one to seven ethoxy groups per mole, together with a builder system. The weight ratio of the primary anionic or nonionic surfactants or mixtures thereof to the alkyl ethoxysulfate salt is in the range from 19:1 to 2:1 provided that the level of the alkyl ethoxysulfate salt is from 0.25% to 10% by weight of the component. Improved rate of dissolution characteristics are observed for the composition and for the individual particulate components containing said surfactant system.
