Abstract: Method and apparatus for automatic savings upon event detection. An electronic transfer of funds from one financial account to another financial account is performed in response to selection of a user interface element to a computer software program. For example, a user may initiate the transfer of a fixed, relatively small amount from a checking account to a savings account by selecting a user interface element configured to initiate a funds transfer transaction. Each time the user selects the user interface element, a new funds transfer transaction is generated and transmitted to a financial institution's computer system(s) via a network. Thus, for example, a user may quickly and easily transfer relatively small, fixed amounts of funds from checking into savings without changing the current context of the computer software program.

Abstract: A system is implemented to collect data from a plurality of different sources. The data comprises information about episodes experienced by a plurality of consumers. The system is configured to receive a cost estimate request from a user for a specified episode. The may access the data to determine a plurality of service items for the specified episode and the associated cost of each service item. An episode may be associated with one or many service items. The network-based service may generate a response to the cost estimate request. The response may include the plurality of service items determined for the specified episode and the associated cost information. The system may send the response to the user.

Abstract: A report is presented that summarizes transaction data. The report functions as an input mechanism as well as an output mechanism. The user can interact with the report directly, to add, edit, or delete transactions. Underlying transaction data is updated based on the user's input. The report is updated as well, to reflect the changes made as a result of the user's input.
