  • Patent number: 5532424
Abstract: A tone generator for an electronic musical instrument analyzes an original waveform signal to store results of analysis thereof into a memory. The results of the analysis read out from the memory is interpolated to generate results of the interpolation in synchronism with each sampling clock. The results of the analysis are corrected to cancel a frequency characteristic to be imparted to the results of the analysis when they are interpolated. The results of the analysis are stored into the memory after having been converted. In another form, a reading numerical value formed of an integer part and a decimal part is generated, in synchronism with a predetermined clock timing. The numerical value is variable at a rate proportional to the pitch of a musical tone to be produced. Residual waveform samples read from the memory based on the integer part are interpolated by the use of the decimal part in synchronism with a predetermined clock timing.

  • Patent number: 5290964
Abstract: A musical tone control apparatus controls a musical tone corresponding to a movement itself of an object and the like which is detected by a detector Such detector detects also a moving speed, a moving force, a moving angle or an intensity of given impulse of the object. In the case where the detector is mounted in the vicinity of a player's joint, the detector detects a revolving or bending angle of the player's joint. Hence, the musical tone can be controlled based on such angle of the player's joint. Thus, through this musical tone control apparatus, the player can generate a musical tone having, for example, a desirable tone pitch, a desirable volume and a desirable tone color based on the movement of the object or the player's joint.

  • Patent number: 4843938
Abstract: In a typical musical tone producing device of a full waveshape readout type, a full waveshape of a musical tone to be produced from the start to the end of sounding or a rise portion and a part of the waveshape following the rise portion of the musical tone is stored in a waveshape memory, and the musical tone is formed by reading out the waveshape from the waveform memory once, or reading out the rise portion once and thereafter reading out the partial waveshape repeatedly. A digital filter is introduced following the waveshape memory in this tone producing device. The filter characteristics are determined in accordance with a tone color change parameter such as the key touch or the tone pitch of the musical tone, thereby realizing a tone color change of the musical tone. Further, in order to realize timewise change of tone color of the musical tone, the circuit which has the tone color change parameter vary with time is proposed.

  • Patent number: 4611522
Abstract: A tone wave synthesizing apparatus comprises a phase address generator; a time frame generator; an elementary wave generator; an incremental wave generator; and an adder. The phase address generator generates a phase address signal which designates phase addresses for phase angles of a waveform to be produced progressively and repetitively. The time frame generator generates a time frame signal which sequentially designates a series of time frames one after another. The elementary wave generator repeatedly generates, for each designated time frame, a period of elementary tone wave in the form of a series of wave sample values in accordance with the phase address signal, which elementary tone wave represents a tone wave at a beginning of the designated time frame.
