  • Patent number: 7002182
Abstract: A semiconductor light emitting device with improved luminous efficiency is provided. An underlying n-type GaN layer is grown on a sapphire substrate, and a growth mask made from SiO2 film or the like is formed on the underlying n-type GaN layer. An n-type GaN layer having a hexagonal pyramid shape is selectively grown on a portion, exposed from an opening of the growth mask, of the underlying n-type GaN layer. The growth mask is removed by etching, and then an active layer and a p-type GaN layer are sequentially grown on the entire substrate so as to cover the hexagonal pyramid shaped n-type GaN layer, to form a light emitting device. An n-side electrode and a p-side electrode are then formed.

  • Patent number: 7001306
Abstract: A brake control apparatus is provided that distributes an engine braking torque Tbe to the front and rear wheels in accordance with an ideal braking torque distribution to suppress and prevent the tendency for one of either the front or rear wheels to lock when the engine braking torque operates. When the road surface friction state is a low friction state and the engine braking torque operates, the brake control apparatus derives an engine braking torque Tbe and distributes the engine braking torque Tbe to the front and rear wheels in accordance with the ideal braking torque distribution. In addition, when the engine braking torque reduction amount is small, the engine drives a generator connected to the engine. When the friction state between the wheels and the road surface is not in the low friction state, the generator attached to the engine is operated as a motor that supplements driving of the engine to reduce the engine braking torque of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20060035227
Abstract: Polymorphisms were searched in 24 varieties with large planted acreages in Japan, and the polymorphic sites were compared among the varieties. Thus, polymorphic markers that can be used to distinguish varieties in a simple and quick manner were obtained. The markers showed distinct patterns for each of the varieties, demonstrating that their combination would enable the varieties to be distinguished. Thus, the inventors succeeded in obtaining molecular markers that can distinguish 24 rice varieties. The use of these markers enables closely related rice varieties to be distinguished and identified at the DNA level.

  • Publication number: 20060035630
Abstract: This invention is to enable transfer of a right to speak in an audio teleconference in view of usability. In this invention, a PoC server is introduced to achieve new functions, such as transfer of the right to speak, reservation to acquire the right to speak, and deprivation of the right to speak. The PoC server has a teleconference presence manager, a teleconference manager, and a teleconference audio communication manager. The right to speak is managed in a presence data storage of the teleconference presence manager. The teleconference presence manager directly manages the presence data storage, but the teleconference manager manages transfer of the right to speak. In addition, the teleconference manager manages reservation of the right to speak by a storage for a reservation list of the right to speak. The teleconference audio communication manager carries out routing of audio data. At that time, only audio data received from a user holding the right to speak is transferred.
