  • Patent number: 7263490
Abstract: For the description of audio-visual data content in a multimedia environment, a binary representation of description structures is used. A binary identifier (BID) for each specified descriptor (D) and description scheme (DS) as well as a binary description definition language (DDL) represent the components. The advantages of a binary representation are a more compact encoding of description structures and thus savings in storage capacity and/or bandwidth. A faster parsing of the encoded data, especially in the context of dynamically varying descriptions, is thereby achieved.

  • Patent number: 7142696
Abstract: An assistance device in a vehicle is described. The assistance device may be used to create a user profile for a driver and to call up the user profile to perform the settings on the various components. The assistance device may include a computer, which may be connected to means for person recognition. Connected data sources, means for representation, means for data reception, an air conditioning system, and a control system for person-specific variable components of the vehicle may be adjusted according to the user profile of the respective driver. The computer may as an alternative be connected to other components over a bus. The user profile may be altered according to a user's most recent settings.

  • Patent number: 7039108
Abstract: In the method of coding according to the invention whether or not a predetermined encoder capacity parameter has been reached is tested prior to the actual coding of an image sequence. A reduction of the coding format can take place when the capacity parameter has been reached. The coding is then performed in this reduced coding format. This method can be combined with any coding process, since it does not need to intervene in the actual coding process that is used.

  • Publication number: 20060062654
Abstract: In a process for production of a lid ring (30) which can be connected to the can body, which borders a discharge opening (38) and has a heat-sealable coating (40) on which to form a can lid (50) a closing membrane (44) can be heat-sealed covering the discharge opening (38), a metal strip (12) with parallel side edges (14, 16) is formed into a tube (20) and the side edges (14, 16) are welded or glued parallel to the tube longitudinal axis (x). The tube (20) produced in this way is divided into tube sections (24) of equal length with cut edges (26, 28) lying in parallel planes. The tube sections (24) are formed into lid rings (30) where a first cut edge (26) is formed into an outer rim (32) for connection to a can body and the second cut edge (28) is curled away from the side intended for the heat-sealable coating (40). The heat-sealable coating (40) is applied to the finished molded lid ring.

  • Publication number: 20050166658
Abstract: A method for producing a cylindrical, seamless can body (20) made of metal with associated can top end. The can top end includes a top end ring, that can be connected to the opening edge (21) of the can body (20) and borders a removal opening (30) and a sealing diaphragm (31) arranged on the top end ring and covering the removal opening. A cylindrical, seamless can body blank (10) is produced. Following trimming of the opening edge (11) of the can body blank (10), a cylindrical ring (18) is separated therefrom. The height of the can body blank (10) is preset in such a way that the can body (20) is formed during separation of the cylindrical ring (18). The scrap portion can also be reduced by the method during production of can bodies and top end rings.

  • Publication number: 20050157870
Abstract: In methods for determining, in a way that is protected against spying, the modular inverse b of a value a in relation to a module n for a cryptographic application, an auxiliary value ? and an auxiliary module ? are determined at least depending on the value a, the module n and at least one masking parameter r, an auxiliary inverse ?? is determined as the modular inverse of the auxiliary value ? in relation to the auxiliary module ?, and the modular inverse b is determined at least depending on the auxiliary inverse ??, the at least one masking parameter r, and the auxiliary value ? and/or the auxiliary module ?. A computer program product and a portable data carrier have corresponding features. The invention provides a method for modular inversion, secured against spying, which is suitable for applications where security is critical, such as, e.g. cryptographic calculations on a portable data carrier.

  • Patent number: 6907067
Abstract: To integrate audiovisual, encoded information into one predefined, frame-structured transmission standard, individual data streams are multiplexed into one or a plurality of data channels of the frame-structured transmission standard. In addition, the capabilities of the communicating terminals are exchanged.

  • Publication number: 20040251742
Abstract: A bus station for connection to a bus in a motor vehicle, including a basic module as well as expansion modules. The basic station can access the expansion and basic modules of other bus stations via the bus for a called-up service. This enables configuration of infotainment systems in motor vehicles according to a modular design.

  • Publication number: 20040147241
Abstract: An entertainment device has a control element with which a user may have equivalent data searched for and then played back by the entertainment device. The data currently being played back are examined for characteristic features, so that the search for equivalent data is then possible using these features. In particular, the actuation of the control element may be used to modify a user profile. In addition, it is possible for the data currently being played back to be stored in the entertainment device when the control element is actuated.

  • Patent number: 6735517
Abstract: A navigation method for a motor vehicle is described, the purpose of which is to display an arrow as a directional symbol on a windshield as a function of signals from a viewing direction recognition device, with the directional information being determined by a navigation device When approaching a turn-off to be selected, the arrow moves in the direction of the turn-off. In addition, the arrow becomes shorter and/or changes color and/or its flashing frequency. A rotation of the arrow on the windshield as a function of the stipulated route is also possible. The projection apparatus, to which the navigation device is connected, has means for placing the arrow in the field of vision of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20040062309
Abstract: In the case of a method for transformation encoding of moving-image sequences, motion vectors are estimated block-by-block, with which said motion vectors a motion compensation is carried out. The prediction error is transformation-encoded. According to the invention, the block size of the transformation encoding is coupled to the block size used in each case for the motion compensation.

  • Patent number: 6675075
Abstract: A device for presenting data in a vehicle as a function of the direction of view of the driver. The device includes a computing device, arrangements for the optical and/or acoustical presentation, an arrangement for the recognition of the driver's direction of view and various data sources. The arrangement for the recognition of the driver's direction of view transmits to computing device the measured direction of view of the driver, so that computing device transmits this direction of view to arrangements for the optical and/or acoustical presentation, so that the presentation of data from the various data sources is made visible in the driver's field of view. This may lead to increased safety in street traffic, since distraction of the driver by the various data of the data sources is greatly reduced.
