  • Patent number: 5553333
Abstract: An apparatus for flushing a water closet bowl includes a pressurizable reservoir, within which is formed a primary and a secondary pressure zone. Formed at the bottom of the reservoir is an exit aperture through which the pressurized fluid is discharged into the bowl. Movably disposed within the reservoir is an elongate piston member. Formed at the top of the piston member is a hollow cup, which is movably disposed within a downwardly extending hollow cylinder within which is formed the secondary pressure zone. Formed at the bottom of the piston is a plug which seals the exit aperture. During a flushing action, pressure within the secondary pressure zone is released by operating a flushing lever, and the piston moves upwardly so as to release the plug from the exit aperture. In one embodiment, the flushing apparatus includes a fluid inlet regulator that controls the amount of fluid that is introduced into the reservoir from a fluid supply line.

  • Patent number: 5136732
Abstract: A pressurized flushing apparatus for commodes in which low volumes of pressurized water are used for flushing. The apparatus includes a pressurizeable tank having a closed water outlet. The tank is pressurized by the introduction of pressurized water into the tank until a pressure of between 8 and 25 psi is achieved. Within the tank is a bellows to which a plug is attached to one end for closing the water outlet. A restrictable open channel connects a pressure zone above the water in the tank with an internal chamber located within the bellows. The open channel is consticted by a needle valve which controls the rate at which the pressure within the pressure zone and the internal chamber are equalized. When the pressure within the internal chamber is reduced to ambient pressure, the bellows will collapse and withdraw the plug from the water outlet. When this occurs, the pressurized water within the tank will be forced out of the tank and into the toilet bowl.

  • Patent number: 4162702
Abstract: The structure of the present invention employs a device at a heat exchanger for two media having parallel tubes with surface enlarging pins and passing through one of the media and about the second medium in a direction substantially parallel to the first medium where the tubes are positioned in a casing with a chamber at each end. Filler material is provided in the spaces between the tubes and the casing. The filler material is hollow at its ends and opens each into a chamber which is positioned in the casing.

  • Patent number: 4135550
Abstract: A control circuit is disclosed for a sleeve-type pinch valve and which control circuit utilizes an internal vacuum condition in a main supply line in which the valve is disposed to retain the elastomeric sleeve of the valve open. A check valve is provided in the control circuit to prevent backflow of material from the main supply line into the control circuit and pinch valve. A unique check valve disclosed for this purpose includes an expandable tubular diaphragm of elastomeric material normally closed at one end and which opens cylindrically so as to impose no restriction to one-way flow of material therethrough. The one end collapses when flow is interrupted, thus to prevent backflow through the valve.

  • Patent number: 4131194
Abstract: A scraper assembly is pivotally supported for biased engagement with the outer surface of a moving conveyor belt to clean the surface of the belt. The scraper assembly includes a plurality of scraper elements spaced along the length of an elongate carrier which extends transversely of the side edges of the belt. Each scraper element is removably mounted on the carrier and at an inclined angle with respect to the direction of movement of the conveyor belt to displace material clinging to the surface of the belt outwardly towards the edges of the conveyor belt. The scraper element consists of a resilient body with a fixedly vulcanized assembly profile with an outwardly open undercut groove for a bolt. The undercut groove extends at an inclined angle towards the scraping edges of the scraper element. The elongate carriers of the carrier device have a curved carrying surface facing the scraper elements.

  • Patent number: 3999649
Abstract: A scraper assembly is pivotally supported for biased engagement with the outer surface of a moving conveyor belt to clean the belt surface. The scraper assembly includes a plurality of scraper bars spaced along the length of an elongate carrier which is disposed transverse to the side edges of the belt. Each scraper belt is removably mounted on the carrier, and the bars on opposite sides of the center line of the belt are parallel to one another and inclined at an angle with respect to the bent center line. Adjacent ones of the parallel bars have side edges which overlap with respect to an imaginary line intersecting the edges and extending parallel to the bent center line. The scraper bars engage the belt surface, and material clinging to the surface is displaced laterally outwardly toward the opposite sides of the belt.
