Patent number: 7137421Abstract: The invention relates to a chipper knife with at least one cutting edge (6) along at least one of its side edges. The chipper knife is adapted to be mounted in chippers of the kind which are used to cut chips of a desired size and shape from pieces of wood or timber (7) and which comprise a tool, in the form of a plane or conical disc, which is arranged for rotation about an axis of rotation and on which a plurality of such chipper knifes (2) are mountable in such manner that one end of the cutting edge of the chipper knife is located closer to the axis of rotation of the tool than the opposite end of the cutting edge. The cutting edge (6) of the chipper knife is formed between a timber-guiding surface and a chip-guiding surface, the timber-guiding surface having a varying angle along its length in relation to a plane of rotation in such a way that the angle is greater at the end of the cutting edge located closest to the axis of rotation decreases in the outward direction.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2003Date of Patent: November 21, 2006Assignee: Iggesund ABInventor: Sven-Olov Biller

Patent number: 6918322Abstract: The invention relates to a multiple screw driving machine comprising a plurality of individual screwdrivers which are arranged on a body or in a housing (8) and which each comprise a spindle or shaft (7) which is rotatably mounted in the housing and which at an outer front end carries a screw driving tool (10) for engagement with a screw means. Each of the screwdrivers are separately drivable by a common motor (1) via a driving wheel transmission comprising a primary driving wheel (5) for each screwdriver. The primary driving wheel (5) is rotatably but non-displaceably mounted on the shaft (7) of the respective screwdrivers whereas a driver element (14) is non-rotatably but displaceably mounted on the shaft (7) and is displaceable with the aid of an operating means (16) towards and away from the primary driving wheel (5). The primary driving wheel (5) and the driver element (14) each have mating and mutually facing engagement means (19, 20).Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2000Date of Patent: July 19, 2005Inventor: Sven-Olov Biller

Patent number: 6058989Abstract: A self aligning knife clamping assembly and machine incorporating the same are disclosed. In one embodiment there is provided a knife clamping assembly having an upper clamping component, a lower clamping component and a fastening device, such as a bolt, therebetween, to permit the clamping components to be releasably clamped together onto a knife element having a knife edge. Positioned between the knife element and the clamping assembly is a biasing element, which urges the knife element to enter, or remain in, a preferred position prior to the knife element being immovably clamped into place. In the preferred embodiment the biasing element is in the form of an elastomeric strip.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1998Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: Iggesund Tools ABInventors: Daniel M. Patent number: 4510981Abstract: The self-centering feeding device (20') for elongated objects such as logs includes a conveyor means (30) carried by a parallel mechanism having a vertical stationary part. The parallel mechanism is connected to a mechanical engagement means (26) and is controlled by a driving means (28) activated when an object on the conveyor means reaches a predetermined position, and is then kept activated the whole time during which the object is fed-through. The object is thus firmly clamped between the conveyor means and the engagement means and has no possibility to rotate about its longitudinal axis. The conveyor means may therefore be much shorter than the object. The invention is suitable for general application, but in particular for application in the log processing industry.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1982Date of Patent: April 16, 1985Assignee: KOCKUMS Industri ABInventor: Sven-Olov Biller
