    Abstract: An apparatus for cooling plastic sheathed wires after the sheathing operation comprises two concentric tubes where the compartment between the tubes acts as a manifold for numerous nozzles directing jets of compressed air into the inner tube. A water stream flows along the inner wall of the inner tube and the water is atomized when passing the nozzles. The water mist formed is given a turbulent motion by the air jets causing an efficient cooling of the plastic sheath.
