Abstract: An apparatus for carrying out a minimally invasive diagnosis or intervention inside the body of a patient is provided. The apparatus includes a capsule endoscope, which can be introduced into the body of the patient and includes at least one medical instrument. At least one transmission antenna for emitting electromagnetic radiation is arranged outside the body. At least one reception antenna for receiving the electromagnetic radiation is provided in or on the capsule endoscope. The current position of the capsule endoscope is calculated in an analysis unit using antenna signals generated by the interaction of the transmission antenna with the reception antenna.
