The fuel injection system also has a high-pressure pump, wherein the first and the second high-pressure accumulators have a number of ports for injector supply lines corresponding to the number of cylinders of the internal combustion engine. A damping volume for damping pressure pulsations between the high-pressure accumulators and the high-pressure pump is integrated into one of the high-pressure accumulators.
