  • Patent number: 9774183
Abstract: A subsea power distribution module includes an outer vessel defining an interior chamber and a plurality of power modules disposed within the interior chamber. The outer vessel is configured to maintain a pressure within the interior chamber substantially the same as an ambient pressure outside the outer vessel. Each power module includes a pressure vessel defining an interior chamber and a power converter disposed within the interior chamber of the pressure vessel. Each pressure vessel is configured to maintain a substantially constant pressure within the interior chamber of the pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 9010434
Abstract: A method for connecting coupling parts of a subsea coupling arrangement, the coupling parts having at least one sealing surface, in which the coupling parts are connected by displacing the coupling parts towards each other, wherein a watertight seal is formed when the coupling parts are connected, feeding filtered sea water through a channel into a space between the coupling parts during the displacement, flowing the filtered sea water over the sealing surfaces to prevent particles and dirt from being trapped between the sealing surfaces, and discharging the filtered sea water from the space into surroundings of the subsea coupling arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20130009737
Abstract: A polyphase transformer (1) comprising at least a first leg (2, 51) and a second leg (3, 52) of a magnetic material is described. The transformer comprises a single core with legs (2-4, 51-53) and yokes (27, 28, 54, 55). A primary winding (9, 15, 21, 56, 60, 62) is arranged on each one of the legs (2-4, 51-53) arranged to produce primary magnetic fields in the legs (2-4, 51-53), a secondary winding (12, 18, 24, 59, 61, 63) is arranged on each one of the legs (2-4, 51-53). The winding axis of the primary winding (9, 15, 21, 56, 60, 62) and the winding axis of the secondary winding (12, 18, 24, 59, 61, 63) are essentially parallel to each other on each one of the legs (2-4, 51-53). The transformer (1) also comprises at least one control winding (33-35, 45-47, 48, 49, 73-75) arranged to produce magnetic fields in each one of the legs (2-4, 51-53) being essentially orthogonal to the primary magnetic fields in the legs (2-4, 51-53).
