  • Patent number: 6201036
Abstract: A light-curable polymer material for making an intraocular lens is a mixture of components consisting of oligourethanemethacrylate, octylmethacrylate, oligocarbonatemetharcrylate, 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone and 2,4-ditretbutylortoquinone, wherein the aforesaid components are taken in the following weight % ratio: 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone 0.1-0.7 2,4-ditretbutylortoquinone 0.001-0.006 octylmethacrylate  8-42 oligocarbonatemethacrylate 2-8 oligourethanemethacrylate balance. Also proposed are a method for making an elastic intraocular lens in which the aforesaid compounds are used as the initial components, and an elastic intraocular lens produced by this method.

  • Patent number: 6129760
Abstract: An artificial lens (AL) for an implantation during an extraction of cataract of any etiology as well as for an implantation into the aphakic eye comprising an optic portion means and supporting elements means wherein in order to exclude displacement of the optic portion and he supporting elements as affected by any capsular forces, the supporting elements are provided with at least one groove in the form of ellipse arc in the section plane perpendicular to the AL optic axis.

  • Patent number: 5846950
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition for promoting the proliferation of human corl endothelium comprising:1 ml of 0.15M phosphate buffer, at pH 7.4;400-800 .mu.g of heparin;1.0-5.0 .mu.g of Cu.sup.2+ ;37.5-375 .mu.g of /3-0-b-D-gelactopyranosyl-(1-4)-0-(2-acetamido-b-D-glucopyranosyl-6-sulfat e)-1/as the salt of a basic metal; and12.5-125 .mu.g of copolymer (b-gucuronic acid (1-3)-N-acetyl-b-galactosamino-4-(or 6-) -sulfate-(1-4) as the salt of a basic metal. Such a composition is particularly useful for promoting the proliferation of human corneal endothelium in conditions associated with cataract extraction followed by artificial lens implantation, wherein the composition is injected into the patient's anterior eye chamber in an amount of between 0.2-02.25 ml, immediately after performing the operation. In all other cases, the pharmaceutical composition is injected into a patient's anterior eye chamber by phonophoresis in a continuous mode, at intensity 0.1-0.3 V/cm.sup.

  • Patent number: 3945054
Abstract: A through corneal prosthesis is proposed which comprises a bearing member to be introduced between the corneal layers and a bushing with a threaded hole rigidly mounted on the bearing member, the threaded hole threadedly receiving a removable optical cylinder. For the period of implantation of the bearing member, instead of the optical cylinder a temporary removable plug is screwed in the bushing, the height of the bushing and the plug not exceeding the thickness of the cornea, so that the bearing member of the prosthesis is implanted without requiring perforation of the corneal layers.
