  • Patent number: 9097750
Abstract: A dual purpose atomic device (DAD) for realizing atomic frequency standard and/or magnetic field measurement based on a hybrid technique comprising of enhanced transmission and polarization rotation by the CPT states is invented. The dual purpose atomic device for realizing atomic frequency standard and/or magnetic field measurement basically involving means for generating bi-chromatic field to facilitate the creation of CPT state in an atomic cell and stabilizing the frequency difference among the said bi-chromatic field to the center of the CPT resonance and thereby realizing atomic frequency standard and/or means for monitoring and analyzing transmitted polarization rotation signal from the CPT enabled atomic gas in a sample cell for measuring magnetic field without scanning the radiofrequency oscillator.
