  • Patent number: 10511629
Abstract: Methods and systems for encryption control in optical networks without data loss enable various transitions related to encryption of an ODU data payload. A transition from unencrypted data payload to encrypted data payload is performed without data loss or dropping of OTN frames. A transition from encrypted data payload to unencrypted data payload is performed without data loss or dropping of OTN frames. A rotation of the encryption key to another encryption key is also performed without data loss or dropping of OTN frames.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 7, 2017
Date of Patent: December 17, 2019
    Assignee: FUJITSU LIMITED
Inventors: Muhammad Sakhi Sarwar, Erik Charles Stewart, Junichi Sugiyama, Abirami Sathyamoorthy, Swati Mittal
  • Patent number: 10511582
Abstract: Methods and systems for simplified encryption key generation in optical networks use a Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to securely generate an encryption key at both endpoints of an optical path provisioned in an optical transport network. Instead of generating yet another key for payload data transmission, the encryption key from TLS is used for encrypting payload data transmission without using the TLS protocol.

  • Patent number: 9929878
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for managing an Ethernet ring protection switching (ERPS) protocol in an Ethernet network. The method includes receiving an administrative data packet at a first network element; determining whether the administrative data packet contains an ERPS membership setting from a second network element; when the administrative data packet contains the ERPS membership setting from the second network element, comparing an ERPS membership setting at the first network element to the ERPS membership setting from the second network element; and performing an action when the ERPS membership setting at the first network element is different than the ERPS membership setting from the second network element.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 27, 2018
    Assignee: Fujitsu Limited

  • Publication number: 20180006987
Abstract: Partial updates to an improved DDS are enabled by a framework API that enables different threads to asynchronously access a topic, while maintaining integrity of the topic in the improved DDS. New fields in a topic of the improved DDS may be added by new DDS publishers for the topic without altering the functionality of existing DDS publishers for the topic.

  • Publication number: 20160204976
Abstract: A method and system for identifying the absence and presence of a ring protection link in Ethernet networks are disclosed. The method may include sending, by a node in a ring of an Ethernet network having a plurality of nodes and an RPL, an APS message. The method may further include receiving, by the node via the ring, the APS message and determining whether the node is an RPL owner node that controls the flow of traffic on the RPL. The method may further include, raising, when it is determined that the node is not an RPL owner node, an alarm indicating that the ring lacks a provisioned RPL owner node.

  • Patent number: 8659994
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for communicating multicast traffic. The method may include in response to receipt of multicast control traffic at a network element to be communicated to a protection switching group, communicating the multicast control traffic to each of a working path and a protection path of the protection switching group. The method may also include in response to receipt of multicast control traffic via either of the working path and the protection path, processing the multicast control traffic as if the multicast control traffic was received via both the working path and the protection path.
