Abstract: Point-of-sale transaction processing is disclosed. In one innovative aspect, there is a point-of-sale system. The point-of-sale system includes a device manager configured to receive a token as input. The token may be associated with a mobile device. The token may also be associated with a particular provider (e.g., store, bank, loyalty program). The system includes a payment information engine configured to map the token to payment information such as a credit card track based at least in part on the received token. In the system, the device manager is further configured to transmit the payment information to a point-of-sale application.

Abstract: A point-of-sale (POS) system includes a POS host terminal that includes a first POS management module that is configured to facilitate a POS transaction. A peripheral device, which may be for example, a smart card/debit card reader with an optional signature capture, is communicatively coupled to the POS host terminal and includes a second POS management module that is configured to facilitate the POS transaction with the POS host terminal being under the control of the peripheral device.
