  • Publication number: 20250119250
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A reference signal distribution scheme described herein may allow for the benefits of orthogonal cover codes, and improve mechanisms to identify and address resulting carrier frequency offset. Techniques are described for distributing reference signals (e.g., demodulation reference signals) over a set of resources. The reference signals may be arranged in equi-spaced clusters, where groups of the reference signals per cluster are spaced according to a first timing offset, and where each cluster may be spaced according to a second timing offset. The network may configure the reference signal distribution scheme at various user equipments, indicating values for the timing offset. The user equipments may transmit reference signals according to the indicated scheme.

  • Publication number: 20250119915
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may map uplink control information (UCI) bits and uplink shared channel (UL-SCH) data bits to a first subset of resources associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The UE may copy symbols associated with the UCI bits and the UL-SCH data bits from the first subset of resources to one or more remaining subsets of resources. The UE may apply an orthogonal cover code (OCC) across a plurality of subsets of resources, including the first subset of resources and the one or more remaining subsets of resources, associated with the PUSCH. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the OCC applied across the plurality of subsets of resources, multiplexed UCI bits and UL-SCH data bits. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20250106841
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration associated with an orthogonal cover code (OCC), wherein the configuration indicates a multiplexing order, an OCC codeword for multiplexing, and a type of OCC, and the type of OCC is one of: frequency domain OCC (FD-OCC), time domain OCC (TD-OCC), sub physical resource block (sub-PRB) OCC, or sub-slot OCC. The UE may apply, based at least in part on the configuration, the OCC to an uplink transmission. • Publication number: 20250106842
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may account for the application of orthogonal cover coding (OCC) to an uplink transmission when determining the transport block size (TBS) for the uplink transmission. OCC may be used to multiplex transmissions from multiple UEs and may involve spreading information. Described techniques may involve accounting for the spreading of information bits when determining the TBS for the uplink transmission to which OCC is applied. Sub-physical resource block (sub-PRB) frequency allocations may be provided for uplink transmissions. The UE may account for the allocated quantity of sub-carriers when determining the quantity of information bits. To indicate a sub-PRB, the UE may be configured to reinterpret one or more fields of an existing downlink control information (DCI) format as indicating the allocated sub-carriers, or a new DCI format may be configured that includes fields for indicating a sub-PRB allocation.

  • Publication number: 20250055747
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration associated with an orthogonal cover code (OCC) sequence, wherein the OCC sequence is associated with a frequency domain OCC-based physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) multiplexing. The UE may transmit a PUSCH transmission based at least in part on the configuration, wherein the OCC sequence is applied to one or more symbols associated with the PUSCH transmission. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240407006
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform an access procedure for establishing or reestablishing a connection with a network entity. The UE may transmit, as part of the access procedure, one or more repetitions of a narrowband physical random access channel (NPRACH) preamble to the network entity. Each repetition of the one or more repetitions may include a set of symbol groups, and each symbol group of the set of symbol groups may include a set of symbols used by the UE for transmitting the NPRACH preamble. In some examples, the set of symbols may include a subset of symbols to which an OCC is applied. The set of symbols may be multiplexed with one or more other sets of symbols associated with respective preambles of one or more other UEs.

  • Publication number: 20240406046
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for selecting a first orthogonal cover code (OCC) codeword from an OCC matrix for a transmission occurring during a first transmission time interval based on a first pseudo-random codeword allocator function, such as a first pseudo-random permutation matrix, corresponding to the first transmission time interval; and sending the transmission during the first transmission time interval using the first OCC codeword.

  • Publication number: 20240322955
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein relate multiplexing transmissions from multiple user equipments (UEs) on the same time-frequency resources. A UE may receive control signaling from a network entity indicating a multiplexing order, a repetition configuration, and a orthogonal cover coding (OCC) configuration to apply to an uplink grant. The repetition configuration may indicate a set of redundancy versions (RVs), a quantity of resource elements (REs) for each RV, and a quantity of repetitions for each RV. The UE may generate a transport block (TB) using the OCC configuration, and the instances of the RVs of the TB may be mapped to REs of the TB based on the multiplexing order and OCC configuration.
