  • Patent number: 8283173
Abstract: This invention relates to a process utilizing natural carbon-13 isotope for identification of early breakthrough of injection water in oil wells. All natural water sources are labeled by unique ratios of carbon isotopes (13C/12C). Following the requirements of the invention, the carbon isotope ratio for oil bearing formation water and for local aquifer water which is to be injected in to the oil reservoir rock is determined. The carbon isotope ratio of the produced water from the selected oil wells is then monitored periodically. When the carbon isotope ratio of the produced (oil well) water shows deviation from the formation water value and tends towards injection water value, then the early breakthrough phenomenon of injection water is identified. Thus the contrast in natural carbon isotope ratios of injection water, formation water and produced water from selected oil wells serve as tracer in the identification of “Early Breakthrough” phenomenon of injection water and its movement.

  • Patent number: 8244885
Abstract: A method, information processing system, and wireless communication network determine a domain name associated with at least one device for providing services to the at least one device in a network. A service request (604) that includes a unique identifier associated with at least one device (102) is received. A query of a remote information processing system (218) is issued for retrieving a plurality of identifier ranges (610). Each of the identifier ranges is associated with one of a plurality of domain names. An identifier range comprising at least the unique identifier associated with the at least one device (102) is identified in the plurality of identifier ranges (614). A domain name associated with the identified identifier range is determined (616). The domain name that has been determined is associated with the at least one device (102).

  • Publication number: 20120166654
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium are provide for managing the Open Channel for IMS command correctly the UICC to have knowledge about the specific status codes the ME received from IMS. This knowledge allows the UICC to make a smarter decision on what it attempts to do to access IMS. Accordingly, the UICC is provided with detailed information about the status codes from the IMS service to allow the UICC to make an informed decision. If the UICC does not have such knowledge, it is possible that the UICC will send potentially unwanted commands to the ME to establish access to IMS.

  • Publication number: 20120147020
Abstract: A method and apparatus provides for providing an indication of a static frame. In one example, the method and apparatus notifies the arrival of a static frame by changing a vertical blanking interval for the static frame. For example, the method and apparatus may determine that a display frame is a static frame if no graphic processing activity and/or lack of update to the frame buffer have been detected for a period of time. In response to a display frame being a static frame, the method and apparatus may change the vertical blanking interval that is immediately before the static frame by increasing the number of blanking scan lines in the vertical blanking interval. The changed vertical blanking interval may be transmitted with the static frame as an indicator of the arrival of a static frame, so that the apparatus may enter a self-refresh mode to repeatedly display the static frame.

  • Publication number: 20120115477
Abstract: To consolidate session initiation protocol (SIP) messages a user equipment (UE) is made aware of all Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) applications installed in its memory and on a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) and supported communication services. By obtaining this information before the initial IMS Registration, the UE can save resources by registering all local applications and communication services in single IMS registration.

  • Publication number: 20120047526
Abstract: System and method for mapping audio and video streams from an audio/video (AV) source to respective ones of a plurality of AV sinks. In accordance with one or more embodiments, the audio and video playback and content protection capabilities of each one of the AV sinks are determined based on AV data received via a video channel interface from each one of the AV sinks. Also determined are the audio and video streams available from the AV source. Respective ones of the audio and video streams available from the AV source are mapped to each one of the AV sinks in accordance with their audio and video playback and content protection capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20110300866
Abstract: Methods are described for use in a mobile device such that when the mobile device is connected to a generic access network (GAN) cell, the mobile device receives information including characteristics pertaining to one or more neighbour cells in a network that are not GAN cells. The mobile device can then determine at least a list of candidate neighbour cells for handover from the GAN cell to a cell that is not a GAN cell as a function of the information. In some embodiments of the invention the network that is not a GAN is a UTRAN network and a candidate list of 3G cells are generated.

  • Publication number: 20110099887
Abstract: A charcoal heating material, such as charcoal briquettes, includes a porous structure that facilitates the flow of oxygen about the charcoal, and thereby, enables the briquettes to ignite easily and quickly. In particular the lightweighted charcoal briquettes have a density from about 0.50 grams per cubic centimeter to about 0.80 grams per cubic centimeter. Methods of forming charcoal heating materials include mixing a rheology modifying agent and a moisture phase with a charcoal mixture to facilitate absorption of additional water into the solid matrix, providing increased porosity and lightweighting of the finished briquette after drying.

  • Publication number: 20110063308
Abstract: A method includes reducing power of a first graphics processor by disabling or not using its rendering engine and leaving a display engine of the same first graphics processor capable of outputting display frames from a corresponding first frame buffer to a display. A display frame is rendered by a second graphics processor while the rendering engine of the first graphics processor is in a reduced power state, such as a non-rendering state. The rendered frame is stored in a corresponding second frame buffer of the second graphics processor, such as a local frame buffer and copied from the second frame buffer to the first frame buffer. The copied frame in the first frame buffer is then displayed on a display while the rendering engine of the first graphics processor is in the reduced power state.
