  • Patent number: 7823380
Abstract: A wave energy converter includes a flexible pipe and an inlet. The flexible pipe floats on the water surface, following the wave form. Slugs of water and air enter, one after the other, through the inlet. Because the flexible pipe follows the shape of the wave, water is transported through a manifold to a pressure chamber connected to a generator. The inlet consists of a hollow, inflexible pipe attached to the throat of the flexible pipe. The inflexible pipe is fixedly attached to a buoyancy tank or plurality thereof. The buoyancy tanks are arranged in a vertical plane or in tandem, with the inflexible pipe passing along the plane vertical to the fore and aft axis of the buoyancy tank and the frontward portion projecting sufficiently ahead of the buoyancy tank with the flexible pipe terminating at a singular outlet. The entire apparatus is facing the oncoming waves.

  • Patent number: 7692039
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing purified terephthalic acid [PTA,], comprising the steps: dissolving crude terephthalic acid [CTA] in an aqueous medium in a reactor; hydrogenating CTA at a temperature of about 260-320° C. and a pressure of about 1100-1300 psig using a hydrogenation catalyst; crystallizing terephthalic acid in the reactor by lowering the temperature of the solution to about 160° C. without evaporation cooling; transferring the content of the reactor to a filtration unit; filtrating the content at a temperature of about 140-160° C. and a pressure of about 40-100 psig, preferably 80-100 psig to obtain a filter cake, washing the filter cake obtained with water having a temperature of about 140-160° C. in the filtration unit; and drying the filter cake.

  • Patent number: 7137054
Abstract: A system and method for scan testing an NCDL and latches controlled by the NCDL is presented. The NCDL is controlled by control logic, a switch is used to control the latches by a clock signal that is not controlled by the control logic. A controllability circuit provides test vectors to, and controls, the NCDL. The outputs of the NCDL are observed by an observability circuit that captures the outputs of the NCDL.

  • Patent number: 5696483
Abstract: An indicator (10) for providing a prominent and distinct indication of the selected operating mode among a plurality of selectable operating modes of an automatic transmission in a motor vehicle. The indicator (10) comprises a housing (70) with a plurality of indication compartments (82-92) which each communicate with an associated indicator window (152-162). An indicator light source (32-42) is disposed in each of the indication compartments (82-92). Light emitted by an illumination light source (56-60) disposed in an illumination compartment (104) passes through a light filter (106) to provide filtered light to the indication compartments (82-92).
