  • Publication number: 20130036065
Abstract: In general, the invention relates to a method for identifying a job candidate. The method includes determining new job characteristics for the new job using a job record corresponding to the new job, identifying an old job using the new job characteristics and old job characteristics, where the old job is similar to the new job and where a similarity between the old job and the new job is quantified using a job similarity factor. The method further includes selecting a job candidate, where the job candidate has applied for the old job, determining a candidate matching factor for the job candidate based on the old job, determining a rating for the job candidate using the job similarity factor and the candidate matching factor for the job candidate, and identifying the job candidate to contact about the job based on the rating.

  • Publication number: 20120254176
Abstract: The disclosed embodiment relates to identifying performance regions in time-series data. An exemplary method comprises identifying, with a computing device, one or more streaks in the time-series data based on at least one streak parameter, ranking, with a computing device, the identified streaks based on at least one characteristic of the identified streaks, and predicting, with a computing device, a future occurrence of at least one streak based on the characteristics of the identified streaks. The steps of identifying and ranking may be carried out using at least one of a linear graph method, a statistical based approach, a curve-line intersection method, and a hypothesis-based method, and the step of predicting the future occurrence of at least one streak may comprise predicting at least one of how long a current streak will continue, when a current streak will end, and when a new streak will begin.

  • Publication number: 20110296922
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for monitoring the integrity of thick section welds during the welding process with electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMAT). Using induction coils in properly arranged and oriented magnetic fields, EMATs can generate shear horizontally polarized (SH) skimming waves in the base metal adjacent to the weld. A through transmission method is adopted where by a transmitting EMAT is used to generate SH skimming waves on side of the weld while a receiving EMAT is used to sense and assess the ultrasonic signal acquired by a receiver EMAT on the other side of the weld there by indicating the quality of the most recent weld layer applied by the welder.

  • Patent number: 8023564
Abstract: Described here are systems and methods for providing data starting from start codes aligned with byte boundaries in multiple byte words. A start code is written starting at a byte in a middle portion of a data word in a memory. An address associated with the byte is written in a table. Data is fetched from the memory starting from the byte.

  • Publication number: 20110006531
Abstract: A wave energy converter includes a flexible pipe and an inlet. The flexible pipe floats on the water surface, following the wave form. Slugs of water and air enter, one after the other, through the inlet. Because the flexible pipe follows the shape of the wave, water is transported through a manifold to a pressure chamber connected to a generator. The inlet consists of a hollow, inflexible pipe attached to the throat of the flexible pipe. The inflexible pipe is fixedly attached to a buoyancy tank or plurality thereof. The buoyancy tanks are arranged in a vertical plane or in tandem, with the inflexible pipe passing along the plane vertical to the fore and aft axis of the buoyancy tank and the frontward portion projecting sufficiently ahead of the buoyancy tank with the flexible pipe terminating at a singular outlet. The entire apparatus is facing towards the oncoming waves.

  • Patent number: 7137054
Abstract: A system and method for scan testing an NCDL and latches controlled by the NCDL is presented. The NCDL is controlled by control logic, a switch is used to control the latches by a clock signal that is not controlled by the control logic. A controllability circuit provides test vectors to, and controls, the NCDL. The outputs of the NCDL are observed by an observability circuit that captures the outputs of the NCDL.
