  • Publication number: 20130093661
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided in order to facilitate user interaction with an electronic device, such as a see-through display. In the context of a method, a reference plane may be determined based upon a fiducial marker presented upon a display of a mobile terminal. The method may also cause interaction information to be displayed in relation to the reference plane such that the interaction information appears to be presented upon the display of the mobile terminal and such that the interaction information at least partially occludes a user's view of the fiducial marker presented upon the display of the mobile terminal. The method may also include receiving input responsive to user input to the mobile terminal in relation to the interaction information and causing performance of an operation in response to the input based upon the interaction information.

  • Publication number: 20120299950
Abstract: Provided herein is a technique by which a user may interact with an apparatus configured to provide for display of an image, such as with augmented reality glasses. An example embodiment may provide a method including receiving an indication of a first motion event initiated on a first side of a device from a motion sensor, determining a first motion event pattern based on one or more directional components of the first motion event, distinguishing the first motion event from a motion event initiated on a second side of the device, correlating a first operation with the first motion event pattern, and causing the first operation to be performed. The first operation may include causing the opacity of an image presented on a substantially transparent display to be increased.

  • Publication number: 20110083578
Abstract: A rail consist having at least one propulsion car having traction motors and at least one working car having working motors. Energy storage units are provided on the consist to provide power to the traction motors and the working motors. The energy storage units provide sufficient power for work mode, travel speeds and curve characteristics of the consist. The use of the energy storage units provides safety, environmental and operational benefits.

  • Patent number: 7244814
Abstract: Variants of the HIV-1 Tat protein exhibiting higher transcriptional activation and stronger P-TEFb binding than wild-type Tat are provided. In addition variants that can inhibit transcription activation by wild-type Tat are provided. Nucleic acid sequences encoding these variants, vectors and host cells for expression of these variants, and antibodies raised against these variants are also provided. In addition, methods for use of these variants and compositions containing these variants as research tools, as diagnostic tools and in the treatment of viral infections are provided.

  • Patent number: 6591359
Abstract: A pipelined data processor has instructions at different stages of execution. Some of the instructions specify virtual addresses into a file of registers having physical addresses. A speculative translator maps the virtual registers of an instruction at one pipeline stage into physical registers for speculative use by the instruction at a later pipeline stage. The registers have multiple differently translated regions. Failure of speculative renaming reverts to an archive copy of renaming data.

  • Patent number: 6215822
Abstract: A digital video presentation system is provided with hardware and software logic for mapping the picture data into buffer memory in a way that permits both the reading of motion vector compensated macroblocks of data and the reading of horizontal picture wide scan lines with a low number of memory page crossings. Preferably, the memory is a plurality of rows, for example 16 rows, wide. Preferably, 16 lines of 8-pixel (two 32 pixel wide column) line segments of 8×8 pixel blocks are stored in consecutive storage locations followed by the consecutive storage vertically adjacent line segments until one line segment is stored in each logical row of the memory. Then the next horizontally adjacent set of line segments of similarly stored until the right boundary of the picture is reached, then the each additional row of 16 lines of the picture similarly are stored until the bottom of the picture is reached.
