Patent number: 11868822Abstract: A method for managing access to a shared resource in an electronic system including a control unit and the shared resource. The control unit is intended to execute applications that are candidates for access to the shared resource. The method uses a calendar of periods of equal duration, each assigned to just one of the applications, to define a temporal distribution of access to the shared resource, and penalty indices associated with each of the applications. The method includes steps for conditionally processing the access requests transmitted by the applications according to their penalty indices. Thus, each application is prevented from accessing the shared resource when the quota assigned thereto is reached, which makes it possible to limit the encroachment of an application that is executed on the access quotas for accessing the resource that are assigned to the other applications.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2020Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: Airbus Operations SASInventor: Sylvain Sauvant

Patent number: 11646977Abstract: The avionic system of an aircraft includes a set of avionic computers and a switch associated with each avionic computer. For each avionic computer of the set of avionic computers, the avionic system includes a communication link between the switch associated with this avionic computer and each of the switches associated with the other avionic computers. Each switch is configured such that it routes the data frames received on its input ports to its output ports in a manner predefined only on the basis of the input ports on which these data frames are received. The various switches are configured such that, when an avionic computer sends a data frame, this data frame is transmitted to all of the other avionic computers.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2020Date of Patent: May 9, 2023Assignee: AIRBUS OPERATIONS SASInventors: Dominique Portes, Sylvain Sauvant, Gilles Lartigue, Bertrand Deshayes, Sébastien Lefebvre

Patent number: 11360446Abstract: An aircraft control system including transducers connected by interface units to an avionics network, such as an AFDX network. Each transducer is directly connected to an interface unit local to the transducer. Each interface unit is a configurable unit and has a signal processing module converting data to a format suitable for transmission over the network. Each interface unit may be configurable, via software commands, to operate in an application session mode, a data-loading mode, or a maintenance mode. Each interface unit may be directly associated with one of the software applications of the aircraft control system. The network may include a lower bandwidth part where data communication is conducted over sampling ports only. Interface units may be configured or installed using a plug and play method.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2019Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignees: Airbus Operations Limited, Airbus Operations SASInventors: Anand Pavaskar, Romain Desautard, Kayvon Barad, Sylvain Sauvant, Juan Lopez, Emilie Claudel

Patent number: 10027570Abstract: A communication network on board a vehicle is a deterministic switched Ethernet network using virtual links, which includes a set of links, a set of subscribers and at least one switch containing a static configuration table that can be configured according to virtual links passing through this switch. This switch is integrated in a subscriber from the set of subscribers and is connected to the subscriber so as to enable communications between the subscriber and at least one other subscriber of the communication network. The switch includes at least three external communication ports (PE1, PE2, PE3) and the communication network is configured according to a mesh topology such that this switch is connected to at least three other entities corresponding to subscribers and/or switches of the communication network.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2016Date of Patent: July 17, 2018Assignee: Airbus Operations (SAS)Inventors: Dominique Portes, Sylvain Sauvant

Patent number: 9906469Abstract: The invention relates to an aircraft control system, situated in the avionics bay, including a computer, a remote equipment, such as an actuator of control surfaces, and an AFDX network. The computer includes a first module and a second module, respectively connected to a corresponding first module and a second module of the equipment, by a first and a second virtual link sharing a common path through the network, the first and second virtual links being segregated by a separate encoding at the applicative level. A replication and/or frame switching device is connected, on the one hand, to the common port and, on the other hand, to the ports of the first and second modules of the equipment.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2013Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: Airbus Operations (S.A.S.)Inventors: Marc Fervel, Antoine Maussion, Arnaud Lecanu, Sylvain Sauvant
