    Abstract: A screw cap closure includes a metal body member with a circular top wall and a depending skirt wall having screw engageable interior projections and in order to facilitate the twisting of the cap an elastomeric flat band encircles the skirt wall and is under peripheral tension and is spaced from the top and bottom edges of the skirt wall. The outside face of the band has a high coefficient of friction.
